Jesus this band is priceless at times!
Is this MLB fucking them around? If that's the case they need to come out and bascially tell fans the GNR website site is BS and not to bother visiting it.
Better hope every single person wanting to attend those concerts is a HTGTH fan and gets "fernando's press release" before arranging travel etc. Stiff shit if you're not.
Serious question: Wouldn't it just be easier to create another website? They can't even get tour dates straight. I'm sure Axl has enough money to hire a competent web designer/internet guy.

Now, the deals are NOTHING like they used to be. Things have changed. Amazon.com a couple years ago launched a price war with WM to offer Black Friday prices on the net for one day-only, at the comfort of your computer in order to avoid the zoo. Not sure how good their prices are this year, but...
Prices are ok. Most of the Blurays that usually sell for $10 are marked down to $7.99. Goodfellas ,Wrath of Khan and The Departed all at that price. There are some seasons of TV shows that sell for $12.99.
Some interesting blurays at $10: the first 5 or so Harry Potter films, Sunshine Cleaning, Boondock Saints, Braveheart, Ice Age 3, Wanted.
The Dark Knight sold at $12.99. Only blurays I haven't price matched at Amazon: Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind were on sale at Target for $12.99. They're like over $40 at amazon.
The great thing about these sales at Amazon are that most of these prices will be available tomorrow and Sunday. So there's no real rush or stampede like the malls.
About 50% through my day. People are assholes.
Really sorry to hear that. Hang in there man it's almost over.

When Pirate Bay goes down, the p2p communities implode. Most people don't realize how most torrents lead right back to Pirate Bay regardless of which site you use.
There will be a recovery of course, but it will be a very long process. Whichever year Pirate Bay is destroyed, it will be one of that year's biggest news stories.
Even private sites? PB's already fucked as they will be probably going to be a pay site at some point.
What's a better option than PB for torrents? I need it.
Are you using it primarily for music or movies? Another alternative is to join one of those forums where the users post a number of media to be downloaded from rapidshare/megaupload links. It takes longer but there's no chance of MPAA/RIAA crap. Tehparadox is a popular one that just requires a signup.
The other alternative is to join a private torrent site. The catch here is that you will have to seed for a while. The benefits are that you'll get access to rare/unheralded/non mainstream stuff and it's a lot less likely to have poisoned torrents.
PM if you want more info.

I went with my Dad many years ago, probably over 10... to get some TV for $60 bucks at a Wal-Mart Black Friday. We went later in the morning at like 9am, and I only went because I thought "whatever, i've never been to one", and I went...
It was an absurd zoo. I was in and out within minutes, before I myself wanted to just start swinging on all the fuckin' jackasses in there. I told my Dad later on, that there isn't ANYTHING at Black Friday worth that zoo of people. Free pussy with supermodels wouldn't get me back into another Black Friday.
I'll actually pay the higher prices to AVOID Black Friday.
My brother was telling me about last year when he went to Wal Mart for Black Friday. He actually woke up at 1am in the morning just to get in line. Apparently, he and his girlfriend still had to deal with a long line. When they got inside, there were a lot of rude people there and it was generally a tiring experience. After hearing that, I never want to go to a black friday . I've already made a few orders online from the comfort of my home.
What is the appeal here on Black Friday? The prices aren't significantly better enough to have to deal with the foot traffic, crappy weather, and the worst in humanity. Aren't most of the items bought on BF non essential items like bluray players, hdtvs etc? Is it ingrained into the American psyche? Because it certain isn't a social bonding event like the Super Bowl.
For the evo members braving the crowds on BF, good luck and have a little patience.

Don't have a link here but the Bills met with Shanahan for 7 hours yesterday and were interested in Gruden, so it looks like they will be looking at a name coach. I think they get rebuffed by Holmgren though.
Lovie Smith is in trouble as there are rumors of his job being in jepoardy. There was also a rumor of Martz coming in as OC after Ron Turner gets canned. That would be a bad combo with the Bears OL problems this year.

Wendy Dio, the wife and manager of legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW), has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.
"Long live rock and roll, long live Ronnie James Dio.
"Thanks to all the friends and fans from all over the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up."
Ronnie James Dio, 67, has performed with ELF, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, and his own band DIO. Other musical projects include the collective fundraiser "Hear 'n Aid". He is widely hailed as one of the most powerful singers in heavy metal, renowned for his consistently powerful voice and for popularizing the "devil's horns" hand gesture in metal culture. He is currently involved with HEAVEN & HELL, a project which also includes former BLACK SABBATH bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice. Their first studio album, "The Devil You Know", was released on April 28, 2009.
DIO cancelled its European tour last week after Ronnie was taken ill. The band's lineup for the trek was supposed to include WHITESNAKE/ex-DIO axeman Doug Aldrich due to the fact that the group's regular guitarist, Craig Goldy, had prior touring commitments with BUDGIE in Australia.
DIO's last release was the "Holy Diver Live" CD, featuring a performance of the classic "Holy Diver" album in its entirety, from start to finish, recorded live for the very first time in 2005 in front of a sold-out London crowd.

Sad story, but they caught it in the early stages and I really hope he beats it as he has one of the most distinctive voices in heavy metal.

Yeah. I've seen some pretty insane stuff in my time. It definitely gets worse every year too.
You mind sharing some stories here? It always boggles the mind how people turn into an insane only to get a few items that are at the rock bottom price (I'm talking about the doorbusters or whatever you call them as the stores usually only stock a few of those per store).
I'm probably staying home as Amazon pretty much is going to be price matching most of the dvd sales from the other retailers and they offer a free trial for prime shipping.
Might go to a Target only because I have a $25 gc. Other than that I have a backload of dvds to watch.
Besides I suspect retailers will be cutting prices later in the month anyway, not worth going through the swarm of people and the cold weather either.

Chicago's big needs are at saftey, WR and another RB. If they have a chance for T.O. next year they need to take him. And draft Mike Williams if he's still around by the third round. Devin Hester is NOT a wideout, let alone your #1 reciever. They should also think about Larry Johnson to compliment Matt Forte, or snag Javaris James in the draft. Cutler isn't going to win this on his own.
I agree with most of this but I'd add an another OL lineman to the list too. I don't think the Bears have a pick in the first two rounds (traded away for Gaines Adams and Cutler). Mike Williams is the Syracuse WR who just quit the team after he got caught in a casino, right? I'd stay away from him. Matt Forte regression has been one of the keys in the Bears disappointing season, as I can't blame it all on the OL.
Eric Mangini... will be looking for a new job at the end of the year.
His tenure in CLE is approaching Rich Kotite level. I gotta admit though it was kinda entertaining how they lost in DET by committing a PI on the last play of the game and giving DET one final untimed play. And DET scored a TD on the gift. His team (CLE) hates him for a variety of reasons too.
Lovie Smith is average. He'll get you to the playoffs every 3 or 4 years. I think a team can do better, but as CC said, you can do worse. Same as the guy in Cinci, win this year, lose next year.
He reminds me of Jeff Fisher, with above average talent he excels. The issue is who are they going to hire to replace him-I guess they could look at the available coaches. I didn't get the Rex Grossman fascination either.
Cowboys are bad. Speaking of which I am so sick of Jimmy Johnson always on the pre-game show picking the COwboys & talking about how good Romo is. The Romo show is over. He's at best a marginal QB. Like a Trent Dilfer if he's lucky. He's not terrible, he'll probably remain in the league for a couple years but come on. He's far from the Troy Aikman the NFL wants him to be. And Aikman wasn't even that good, but he won games and kept them in them, he didn't lose games very often.
I think you're underating Aikman here: he was very accurate and precise especially in clutch games. I remember the play in 1992 NFC Championship (the pass to Alvin Harper) that sealed the game and sent DAL to the SB. I think they ran the ball a lot and his stats weren't as good as they should have been.
I've never believed in the Romo hype as well. Look it's a nice story and he's an ok player. But the guy has not delivered in the 2nd half of the season or the playoffs. I think his OL is pretty average too. Interesting to see if a WC comes from the divison and who actually wins this. I think the Giants have a shot after looking dead for a month.
But hey the Titans won and I'm very happy.

Yeah Buffalo may have to though, they have trouble attracting big name coaches. Jauron had a bad record when hired, Mularkey and Williams were co-ordinators, they just don't get interest from the Jon Grudens of the world. I hope they go for experience, but as long as the coach has some fire I'm ok with it. I would kill for Singletary as a coach, after years of emotionless failure I'd love to see someone get angry about mistakes. 10 false starts in a game and you can't even manage a loud word? The tolerance of failure has to go, and any age person can provide that.
The Bills will probably pursue a QB in the draft, there was even a rumor of benching Edwards for Fitzpatrick, which would be stupid but confidence in Edwards is at an all time low. 6 TDs, 7 INTs, happy feet in the pocket and poorly thrown deep balls and a yards per pass attempt average of 6.5 is pretty pathetic. The line is mostly to blame but he may be permanently damaged because of them, he's called "Captain Checkdown" in Buffalo because he only throws to the flats or to hook routes. The best pass the Bills have had all year was from Fred Jackson. Of course Edwards should be given the remainder of the season to prove his worth because clearly Fitz isn't a long term investment, but don't be surprised to see the Bills draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round.
Gotta be honest here--Buffalo had a chance to win the game in the 2nd half but the d just wore down. And I have no idea why Jauron didn't accept the holding call in the 4th quarter to push the Titans out of FG range.
CC--would you have a preference toward an offensive minded coach? I think the Saints O-Coordinator Pete Carmichael could be an option here as the bigger market teams will go after the "name" coaches and bump the hot coordinators down the list a bit.
I think the Bills bungled the O-Line situation after they dealt Peters to the Eagles. In retrospect, the Bills should have taken Oher (the tackle prospect) instead of Maybin the De. Why did they release Langston Walker a few days before the regular season again? At the very least, he provided experienced depth. They've also been hit with a lot of OL injuries.
I think it's likely that a QB prospect might drop to the Bills depending on how many juniors enter the draft. Currently, the Bills are 9th in the draft standings. If Clausen, Locker, and Bradford all declare the Bills could have a chance at grabbing one of these guys. The Bills also desperately need to hire a football guy to run the orginization. The current COO is a financial guy.
CC, take heart man it could be worse. You could be a Browns or Raiders fan:lol:

Some really interesting results today. Congrats to the Tampa Bay Bucs for notching their first win. They also brought out the orange throwback unis which was nice. I think Josh Freeman might turn out to be a pretty good qb.
Arizona continued their Jeckyll and Hyde routine by beating the Bears on the road. Their offense looked unstoppable in the 1st half as they both ran and threw at will on the Bears. The pass rush was non existent allowing Warner to stand back and pick apart the secondary at will. The Bears are going to have to have a tough time making the playoffs now. I wonder whether or not Angelo or Smith (or both) get canned this year.
Miami hung tough again against the Pats. But they really need to get a number 1 wide reciever. Ted Ginn just blows as a wide out.
The Bengals are for real as they won a low scoring, ball control type of game against the Ravens. Cedric Benson has turned out to be the player that the Bears thought they would be getting when they took him fourth in 2005. Only he's doing it with CIN. They are a real threat to make the Superbowl and I'm gonna be cheering for them(if the Titans don't make it--which seems likely).
New Orleans has been winning with offense the past few weeks. I think they lose once or twice possibly against NE.
What has happened to the Giants? 4 straight defeats?
Big game on SNF later for NFC East bragging rights and playoff implications.
Titans 2-0 with Vince Young. Chris Johnson with 100yds again. Note to FF players: It appears that they've finally started giving Johnson some goal line carries and he'll finally start getting more tds to go with the yards. Vince Young will still "vulture" some of his goal line tds though.
