I'm not too fussed whether it ever comes out or not. If it leaks I would still download just so I could then bitch about it

For those going to the Adelaide and Perth gigs according to their myspace they have added an extra show in each state:

What's even better for me is the Perth gig is on the same day. There is a gig at 3:00pm in the city that has just been added then I can head down south to the Motorplex for the original gig starting at 7:00pm. What's even better is if Axl is late for the first gig it won't result in my missing the second
Edit - Hmm I'm wondering if they have changed the venue for the Perth one and the start time for both and they are not actually second concerts??? Maybe they took my advice about not having the Perth concert at the Mulletplex and to move it up to the city

Well - I did suggest that when the Aussie dates were announced the selection of the venue for the Perth concert, plus the Sydney one with the V8 Supercars had the potential to attract trouble...

A LOCAL council is demanding specialist gang crime police and extra security to patrol Perth's Guns N' Roses concert in December, which will be held at the same venue as last Sunday's bikie shooting.
The call from Town of Kwinana comes a week after 20 bikies from three outlaw motorcycle gangs - the Finks, Coffin Cheaters and Club Deroes - clashed at the Kwinana Motorplex in front of children and families at the Harley Street Bike Drags.
Three Finks were wounded in the violent confrontation, including one man who reportedly had three fingers severed and another with a gunshot wound to a leg. Several Coffin Cheaters bikies also turned up at hospitals asking for treatment after the incident, police said.
The Guns N' Roses concert will be held at theMotorplex on December 11.
Yesterday Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said council officers would be instructed to liaise with the event manager to ensure bolstered security and screening measures were in place at the concert.
She also wanted thorough searches of people entering the venue. "I think it would be prudent for police to maintain a presence in light of what has happened," Ms Adams said.
"I can only anticipate that Guns N' Roses would attract a wide range of people, but they may well be a band that also attracts a lot of bikies.
"We would certainly be asking for extra security just to ensure that, if people are attending the event for reasons other than wanting to enjoy a good band, then steps would need to be in place to ensure they are turned away from the venue.
"I will be asking our council to liaise with the event manager and the local police to seek a reassurance that an incident of this nature doesn't happen again, predominantly through upgraded security.
"(Kwinana Motorplex) have been very responsible managers and I would like to think that (last Sunday's episode) was an unfortunate one-off."
Police this week raided 20 outlaw motorcycle gang properties from Geraldton to Mandurah as part of their investigation into the brawl.
Several bikies were arrested and charged with firearms and drug offences, but police said charges were yet to be laid over the Motorplex clash.
Det-Insp Paul McMurtrie, from the Gang Crime Squad, said officers would assess intelligence and make a decision about any police presence at the Guns N' Roses gig closer to the date.
"Certainly, if you look at concerts held previously, like AC/DC, we did have a presence there because of the high number of outlaw motorcycle gang members, but that all depends on our intelligence prior to the event," he said.
Det-Insp McMurtrie said police were continuing their investigation into the Kwinana Motorplex brawl.
Guns N' Roses promoter Andrew McManus could not be contacted for comment yesterday.

Yeah I looked at that and thought something similar. I would like to see proshot footage of new stuff, old stuff etc etc. There must be a mountain of material.
Plus there are other songs other than KOHD that I would have like to have seen proshot from that gig too. Hopefully we'll see some more.

Yeah jokes aside it's probably quite tough to get themselves up mentally to go through the whole new singer, recording, touring thing with VR again. That process could theoretically take up another couple of years from start to finish of a tour in support of a new album.
Starting down that path would mean accepting that a reunion wasn't going to happen for yet another couple of years then at least (not saying we're definitely going to get one).
So it's probably just easier doing solo stuff and fill in stuff rather than something so full on like starting the VR process up again. Plus then it's easier to simply ditch whatver they are doing should the planets align and a reunion is offered.

Back to the band. I don't want this to be taken the wrong way, but how am I am supposed to give, say, a new singer in Velvet Revolver--should we decide to find one-- a fighting chance, given all of my past history with our previous singer, Scott Weiland?
That's an interesting choice of words, why wouldn't he say "should we find one" instead of "should we decide to find one"? His comment implies they haven't even decided to look for a new one at this stage which is contrary to what my understanding was. I thought they were still loosely looking.
That comment implies they haven't even agreed on trying to get somebody again.

I also tend to think that he was finally backed into a corner and forced to release it. Leaks and financial issues must have played their part.
Even if he thought it was a good idea at some point in the process is seems pretty evident that once the record company got some kind of "sign off" or hold of the masters, the whole thing went hurtling along at a great rate of knots. Presumably that was an intentional strategy so Axl had no way of stopping it, or changing his mind etc etc.
#1499 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash eyed Rose for solo album » 813 weeks ago
Yeah how it was received and how the promo went is only a side issue for me. I'm happy with CD and that I got new music, I'll also take new music from them however they end up dishing it up.
I'm not fussy
, just gimme gimme gimme

Yeah true, a second release of new material, tour promo etc could only go better than the first release. I'm not implying that means it will be super hot in the mainstream etc (but cool if that happens), but it can't go as rough as the CD release and promo. (I'm not necessarily talking sales figures either, but rather the things as a whole).
