I hate refs. The Vikings were screwed. And Chester Taylor, wtf, dude? I'm following the Vikes this year. They proved they're the real deal.
Yep. The BS tripping call that nullified a touchdown. AP is a beast, did you see that shot he gave the Steelers CB near the end of the game?
I can't believe there are people saying that the Cowboys are legit.
They beat the Falcons who were 4-1 coming into the game. It is their first quality win of the season (beating the Chiefs, Panthers and Bucs don't count), but this team has a bad habit of folding in Nov/Dec. They have some difficult games upcoming so we should know whether or not they are real playoff contenders.
If the Bills are headed for another 6-10 or 7-9 season they should can Jauron after the season. No use wasting another year on mediocrity. Do a full sweep of the orginization and hire a Real GM not that COO that's been running things.
I think people might be sleeping a bit on the Cards. Assuming their DB injuries are minor and they get any sort of running game from Chris Wells, they are well positioned for another run at the Super Bowl. Great passing game and they stop the run.

I'm not saying he's a permanent failure. Although coming from USC playing in the cold wet weather of New York is going to be very hard for him for years to come. But he got a lot of praise for his first several performances and many people predicted the Jets to win the division easily (I also thought that could happen). And it simply won't. 5 INTs in one game is not the performance of a good player. It's not the performance of an ok player. If the Jets need him to win any games this year they will lose those. If the defense isn't great and the run game isn't dominant, they will not win enough games. The Bills are not good. Throwing 5 picks to that team, who had 4 picks in the 5 games prior, is really humiliating.
I think its the hype he got after those two games that really irked people like me, CC. The guy has good physical tools but he only started like 20 games at USC and as time has gone by, opposing DC's have figured out his weaknesses and he has looked awful in most of the games. The Jets did the smart thing by trading for Braylon Edwards and giving him a WR to throw to. But at this point it is still a learning process. I wouldn't be suprised if NYJ ended up like 6-10 after the 2-0 start.
The end of the Bears game had to be frustrating. The long KR by Atlanta that set up the GW td and the killer false start penalty by the veteran Pace when they were looking at a 4th and 1. The good news is that the Eagles lost too; it is basically a 3 team fight for 1 spot--Eagles, Bears, Packers. Eagles play the Bears later on and GB will play CHI in Soldier Field. Bears play another tough one against CIN next week though.

Man TEN is definitely the WORST team in the league right now. Thankfully, they still have the Rams on the schedule and I think that'll be their only victory. I've not sure they've made a statement against a team starting two rookie CBs and a statue at QB. I'd wait till they play a real team before making a judgement. Their OL is still going to be a problem moving forward.
Still can't believe how the Eagles lost to the Raiders and even allowed JaMarcus Russell to throw for a TD.
NO and MIN have heads up on HFA but NYG has proven that they can win on the road in the playoffs so its not a big deal for that team. I'm still surprised by the NFC West. I thought SEA would go on a winning streak after last weeks game. Looks like a fight between SF and ARZ for the division crown.
CIN suffered a blow today when they lost their starting DE.
Oh, BTW TEN had -7 gross passing yards, the first team since the AFL/NFL merger to finish with less than zero. Makes that Derek Anderson performance from last week look great.

I have just a few comments for them. Forgetting about the financials for a minute, I think the basic question is whether or not you're happy in Belgium right now. If the answer is yes, I would just stay there. However, if you want to just experiment and live vicariously I would go for it. The second part is picking a city--have you ever been to any of the French cities you mentioned? Paris has the advantage of using the same currency (euro) and excellent transportation options. OTOH, the French can be a bit stuffy.
Honestly,I would actually consider Vancouver over the US options. It is a clean city with a youthful population and good transportation options. There are also outdoor options and nightlife. The climate isn't too extreme in either direction--hot or cold. There is universal health care and it is close to several major cities in the Northwest--Portland and Seattle. They are also hosting the Winter Olympics next year.
Whatever decision you make, good luck and have fun.

whats with the sub par teams on MNF so far this year?
They usually schedule the prime time games on last year's records/results. MNF is inflexible so they get stuck with that game. With the topsy turvy nature of the NFL, you're bound to have some really subpar games since they schedule on how they think the games/teams will turn out.
A great set of top heavy games this week with BAL/MIN, and NYG/NO in the early afternoon games and CHI/ATL on SNF and DEN/SD on MNF. I think the Bears have their work cut out for them in the quest for a playoff spot.
Bears upcoming schedule:
@ATL (huge game with playoff implications)
@CIN
vs CLE (win)
vs ARZ (have no idea whtat to think about AZ)
@SF (cross country games are always an issue)
vs PHI (see ATL)
@MIN
ATL gets to play the dregs of the NFC south and Phily gets to play DAL and WSH a whole bunch of times. The good news is that the Bears play both those teams and do control some of their destiny. GB could also enter the discussion as well.

Hard not to blame the offense for forcing them to play 45 minutes every game, but with these injuries and such a terrible offense I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills go 1-15 this year. At least the streak of 3 straight 7-9 seasons will be broken.
They still play KC, TEN, CAR, and JAX. I'm betting they win one of those games. Where they really screwed up is by not having enough depth at OT. I think they are down to their 4th or 5th string tackle with all the injuries. After they dealt Peters in April, they should have at least drafted another guy in the first four rounds to at least groom for the future. I think they also released Langston Walker prior to the season which also screwed up the depth chart even more.
Oh well, Jauron is probably gone and they should hire a competent GM to go along with the new coach. I don't think they are that far away. Clearly they do have some talent, and the NFL is pretty much an unpredictable league anyway and unless you're Detroit or KC, they have a chance to compete.
Break up the Falcons!!!! Dirty Birds are back!
Looks like they'll finally break that streak of not having consecutive winning seasons. I actually wanted them to take Glenn Dorsey instead of Matt Ryan.
but you got TO! What a supportive teammate he is.....
Really surprised he hasn't blown a gasket yet. But I think he's playing for another(last?) contract.

He is 4th imo. He got the least amount of points of the 4 players.
#1498 Re: The Sunset Strip » Aerosmith guitarist goes solo as band flounders » 865 weeks ago
Jeez some of this sounds like the mid nineties GNR stuff between Slash and Axl. FWIW, I've never understood why Aerosmith (specifically Steven Tyler) insists on using those hack outside writers to help them write songs. I'll be checking out some of Joe's solo material as I had no idea he was even releasing a solo album.

Can't believe they lost 6-3 to a team who's QB threw 2 completions.
The stats for Derek Anderson (the winning QB!)
2-17 23 yards 1int
At this point the Bills have to think long and hard about whether or not that Trent Edwards is the QB to lead this team in the future and beyond. I know the OL is bad, but still some of these performances are head scratching. It seems to be a good year for QB draft prospects. If one is available when they pick, the Bills have to think long and hard about taking him. They haven't had a good QB since Jim Kelly retired.
The Bills suck.
Cincinatti is for real.
That is all.
I feel your pain as I'm stuck watching the Titans play and it is a very miserable fucking experience. Can't wait for that Bills-Titans game later on in the season.
I think Cinci is actually one of the better stories of the NFL season. Cedric Benson has done a very good job for them after being dumped by the Bears. I'm glad he turned it around since I liked watching him play in college.
Anyone else want to jump on the Broncos bandwagon with me?
Not quite. While I think Indy is the class of the conference right now, I think they can be beat by a team that plays ball control against them and just wears out their D and keeps the ball away from Manning. NE has issues with injuries right now and I think they might have lost their starting LT to a knee injury. The rest of the AFC South is a joke and I think there is a distinct possibility that the AFC north sends three teams to the playoffs. I just haven't seen enough of Denver to make an opinion on them yet.
This year the NFC is a far superior conference top to bottom.
Jauron, Zorn, and Fisher have to be feeling the hot seats on the coaching front.
#1500 Re: The Garden » The 2009 NFL Season Thread » 866 weeks ago
Man the NFC is gonna be a dogfight for both the top 2 seeds and the last 2 wild card spots.
At this point the Vikings, Saints, and Giants are all undefeated and look like great teams. Eagles, Bears, Packers, Falcons are all in contention for 2 playoff spots and some good team will be left out of the playoffs. There's going to be a monster game in 2 weeks with NYG@NO. Both teams should be undefeated(Giants play Raiders and NO has a bye) and the winner should have a leg up on the #1 seed.
I'd say that NYG has a slight advantage over MIN in terms of securing a 1st round bye as they have a slightly easier schedule. It doesn't really matter anyway as wild card teams have won the superbowl in previous years.
