I look forward to a new album everyday, even though I think a reunion is more likely at this point. I'm excited by the 2010 band, but Axl kills all dreams, because I know he'll never do a fucking thing other than cash grab tours.

I'm with you Naltav, my mouth drools over the prospect of another album or more. I'd love to see Axl stick with this lineup and release music.

But when he has no intention, that's when I get, "well if you're just gonna tour the hits, get the guys back that wrote the songs, otherwise release new music". Even Chinese Democracy has worn out it's welcome now, it's time for something new, and Whole Lotta Rosie ain't it.

Yeah I would really like him to release all the other shit he has plus some new stuff with the current guys before I have any wish for a reunion.

Whilst I suspect a reunion that had new music would probably sound quite classic GNR (which would be really cool), I'm still keen to hear what else Axl can throw out there from his post Slash work.  Some of the directions and ideas he has tried probably would be quite different to any work he might do with the original guys, so it would be nice to see some more of where he is going with that.

BUT I agree with you Axlin08 if he ain't gonna be creative with the new guys......

BTW - Congrat's also Naltav, I'll be joing you in less than 2 months for the first time as well.

I'm there as well! Imagine that! Wanting to visit a site were people are positive and happy about a band I love...

A lot of things can be said about the way Jarmo runs is his site.
But it is usually up to date with the latest happenings...

Yeah there is usually up to date stuff on tours and stuff like that.  But in my experience there is often whole topics or happenings that never existed according to that site as well.

Things like leaked tracks never offically existed for ages according to them, Merck's letter etc etc.  So we need other sites like this one to fill in the gaps if you want a more rounded view of what's going on in GNR land.

I think Faldor's posted addressed this issue perfectly:

However, there's just not as much to talk about when things are going well.  It's as simple as that.  How many different ways can I say, "Axl sounds great", "this band is tight", "things are going so well".  Sometimes I feel like I'm beating a dead horse , so I don't feel the need to post the obvious over and over.

If shit hits the fan it's something new to talk about simple as that!  If they announced a US tour, or a video or a new album etc people would talk about that too because it's something new.  It's not about people being sad or petty.

Besides if you want to see a 24/7 cheer squad for GNR there is already a site that caters for that market.

Yeah that's awesome!!! It was great seeing him play that, it's a fucken good song with some awesome guitar, one of the highlights of the set for me!

Interesting to see it in the set.  Unfortunately whilst I really like Myles voice he just doesn't seem to quite pull Jungle off there.

What I think would be really interesting is if Slash started throwing in more UYI tracks like, Locomotive, Estranged (lol) etc.  Fans have been wanting Axl to play more Illusions for ages would be quite funny if Slash gave it to them.

ok I went and had a look at the site, despite the less than appealing manner you posted about it.

So i looked around and poked my head in a few threads.  There were a couple of interesting conversations but they were littered with some much BS name calling and crap.  So I kept looking for something to give me a start as to what you were all discussing etc but NOTHING.  Some dude has posted some free book to download which I thought might have some background reading as to the concepts you were all discussing but even the link for that was broken.

Yeah muscially I really like OIAM plus lyrically I thought Axl painted a great picture for me of what he saw literally as a small town white boy straight off the greyhound bus in a big city for the first time.

Perhaps some people didn't like what they saw in the mirror that Axl was holding up.

If OIAM created controvery back then imagine it coming out now in the hypersensitive over the top political correct environment of today!

Interesting you mention One in a Million, there is a follow up to the original interview with Niven here and he specifically mentions that song.

^ Yeah I actually don't think DJ is intentionally trying to look like Slash.  Unfortunately some aspects of presumably his regular look mean there are a lot of similarities.

As I said from the vids I have seen of him onstage he puts in 100% and gives a great show which is the most important thing.
