I was more left and less authoritarian than I thought. I do consider myself mostly a centrist though, so fairly accurate.

Agreed, unfortunately I think that is a significant likelihood.
I think he may have booked this tour to go out with a bang and secure some retirement funds.
Maybe. You'd think he would promote it as a farewell tour then though.
He was never in it for the money, so I think he plans to continue making music. With Slash back he gets the best guitarist and the financial pull to control and tinker for as long as he wants. Just do some shows, release a greatest hits album and his backers will be happy. A reunion is what the fans want and what the label/promoters want. Suddenly Axl stops being the bad guy.

Wouldn't read too much into that. Likely one of the must have's for Slash in a reunion is to be free to do his own thing once Axl puts on the brakes. And Axl wouldn't bring Slash back if it wasn't long term, as it would hurt his new GNR brand. Only way these shows is the only thing they have planned is if Axl plans to retire.
I agree about Brain - but Slash and DJ side by side would be kind of absurd. Both wearing their respective top hats - both arching into the same guitar lord poses and both lighting up a smoke during patience. Give me a break!
DJ in a reunion would be the worst thing ever.

I'd say Bernie and Trump are more similar to each other than any other candidates. They both advocate socialism and nationalism. Difference is Bernie likes to put the emphasis on the social, while Trump focuses on the national.
Their actual policies though appear very similar. Control the border, protect American jobs, health care for all.

It's actually pretty lame that they sound-checked the song in 2011 but haven't managed to play it live more than 4 times and those were 15 years ago. Like i say I love the song but sometimes being a fan of this band will drive you insane.
Hard to sing I imagine.
Then again, why rehearse it if it's not being played? It isn't a hit, nor are many people dying to hear it. Yet Axl wants the band to rehearse the song before a tour.
Yeah, this band, definitely.

I had forgot those shows even existed. Vegas, Rio, then the 02 tour was how I remember it. But of course they did those second Vegas shows in between.
That new years eve show is the real peach. Small venue, band had already played a few shows and no sound problems. Axl hadn't hit 40 yet, so possibly his voice was in good shape too.
