I remember reading an interview with someone from an Izzy solo band - I would assume JuJu hounds but I'll confess I don't follow it closely - and he said Izzy went out to get a drink or something while they were in the studio and never returned either.
I think he just has a casual attitude to stuff as part of his personalty.
My guess would be they don't trust him without a fortus style back up in the wings, and then he wanted a 1/4 cut and they just figured by the time they pay him a share and have to pay fortus anyway.....why not just offer him a small token and he can take it or shove it.....
Probably not the best call for fans though I can feel will on that one.

Is it possible we've all died?
I mean seriously? Axl is rehearsing? With Slash? There's a GNR reunion happening at the troubadour? Then Axl will play with Ac/Dc?
Try selling odds on that in 2009
We're in some alternative universe....if you didn't believe about the Berenstein bears...surely this is enough

I will be pretty pissed at Izzy if he turned down this one-off gig considering NONE of them are making any money on it. $10 tickets for general public and then majority of the audience is VIP's who don't pay for tickets. In a tiny venue...a venue that means a ton to the band's history. It's now or never Izzy. Do the right thing for the fans.
I hear ya on the "for the fans" bit - but then I also see this as promotion for the full tour. So like if Axl, Slash and Duff won't share their payday with him on tour I can see why he'd not want to help them open it with a bang too.

That's a shame...I feel sorry for You Could Be Mine...lol....still will be great to see Adler...he's going to be so happy!

It's all on the rasp now. If Axl deliveres 2006 or 2009 form these shows will get rave reviews. If it goes like Rio 2011......gulp......

I just looked at myself in the mirror and said:

GNR always has grand plans but they always stuff them up, just like the release of Chinese Democracy. If they'd done this prior to the cochella and vegas fan ticket sales it would be the best thing ever. But to pull it now just burns their hardcore fans twice over.

I'm trying to think of a single good reason they didn't run this through nighttrain. As an Australian I wouldn't have been able to go anyway, but I sort of think the people who followed this band through 23 years of "HELL NO" should get to be there they day they say "OK THEN". Or at least some of us.
Everything else about this is cool, but this stunt should have been pulled prior to the cochella and vegas ticket releases, and it should have run through nighttrain.
This should be the shock reunion event, like the first we've heard of it other than the yearly BS rumours about superbowl etc

This really is getting exciting now with the "April Fools?" and all that on the site.

I'd forgive everything for some new tunes....lol

Neemo wrote:Between Adler drum sticks, Frank's kit and Sorum grin I wouldnt doubt
Adler on afd
Matt on uyi
Ferrer on cdAnd an epic triple threat drum solo
I think that would be very lame.
One drummer is fine.
Only if it's Matt

That's what makes them the most dangerous band in the world though.
Not sure if that's a joke, but I strongly disagree, to me the essence of old GNR was that the DELIVERED despite the bullshit. Like, sure, you might have Axl come a few hours late, he might go on a rant....but you would get a rock act that was one of the best of all time. The problem since 1995 is that the band basically stopped delivering.....took them a generation to get out an album....and then it had some issues....dozen of pojects scrapped...I'm not even going to list it all as you know it.
Anyway...Axl's unpredictability is what made it dangerous, but it never used to be a con, which is basically what things are fast becoming in recent times.
Look, we've gotten so little over the years, I think we should be happy with whatever is thrown our way.
That's why we differ I guess. The more they screw us the better we deserve next time. Otherwise at some point it's just Stockholm syndrome. But i'm sick of that mindset - Axl has ruined most of his own career and I'm tired of being told when fans want something reasonable that we're just finding stuff to complain about.
