it goes both ways...just as many people run down Axl in order to build up the old members...it is a two way street which is why I rarely engage in any conversations anymore....everything gets petty and vindictive.
I don't know that anyone has run down Axl more than Axl. The guy makes himself an easy target. Now maybe he does that on purpose...I don't know, but he gives people easy material to use to run him down with. Most of the time when I see Axl being "run down" it's someone stating a pretty well known fact or fact based opinion/speculation these days. I don't see to many random attacks (here at least). Now mygnr is so bad that I can't even read it...the chat here is all of us singing folk songs around a campfire compared to mygnr.

Nothing to Say is a dark horse favorite of mine. A guilty pleasure because I don't own much of that kind of music, but that does rock.
Absolutely love this one - maybe my favorite post GnR rocker with Slither, and this isn't my usual preference for musical style.

According to some metrics, Jake Long wasn't any better than the Bears tackle that Cutler shoved on MNF last year. I think he was probably playing hurt, but there's a lot of risk involved with him. I'm not sure I'd drop a huge check on him and I'd certainly franchise over signing him long term if I was Miami.

But I wonder, is what my ex coworker said true? And if it is, why does it sound so good?
It's fact folks:
He complimented the guitar riff, but questioned the construction of the solo. "It just seems like Slash decided to play in A-minor or whatever key he wanted instead of doing what might be best for the song." - Dizzy Reed on Slither
So what do you think about that? Do you like what he did on Slither? Do you think it sounds good and goes well with the sound despite the key?
My response to my coworker was, ”who cares if it sounds good?” To which he responded that bring off key never sounds good.
I thought this was odd because Slash sounds great to me, and it's weird that a jazz guy would not like it just because Slash broke a musical rule since jazz is all about braking musical rules.
There are no rules...he's essentially complaining that they apparently did a key change for the solo. I understand complaining about a lot of things Slash has done throughout his career, but the one thing he's almost always done is played a solo that fit the song perfectly and Slither is no exception to that. Even the simple solos of KOHD and Yesterdays fit those songs perfectly. Song structure? Questionable. Vocalist choices? Questionable. Power hungry? Probably. Bad solos? None that I can think of.

Wow. Just wow. What the hell does they keyboard player in GnR know about anything going on in VR? Slither is pretty close to the perfect modern rock song imo (minus the lyrics). There's absolutely nothing musically wrong with it.

I guess it depends on who the "witnesses" are as to whether this sways my opinion at all. Clive is a powerful person in the industry and not everybody is going to tell him he's wrong even if he is.

Then why are you posting in the thread then.
So knowing something about it is now a requirement to post? I guess you won't be posting much at all then.

I saw it on FB. Not the biggest fan of hers, but she's got some solid songs out there. The bigger thing is standing up for herself...I'm sure she's not the only one to be bullied.

I'm not a fan, so I don't know anything about them.

LOL - I didn't know there was a nu-Heart. Good to know, good to know...
