I like it a lot better with Adam singing it, but this isn't a bad job at all.

I have been out of the country for 7 days on a cruise.  One of my projects for the cruise was to read Duff's book.  It was a great read, though there were times I wish he had gone into more details on things.

The one thing I found interested was I've seen a lot of people quote the first time he addresses signing the name over.  He discusses it again later and the tone and wht he implies is quite different.  I'm curious if anyone else noticed that and what their thouts were on that (and the rest of the book).

Common sense, Ali. You know, that something other people use. Believe me, nobody on Earth would sign over a million dollar worth property for nothing, just to see Axl smile. Except you, maybe.

I have common sense,  but I think the problem is your definition of common sense is tantamount to presumptions that suit your pre-existing notions of how this situation unfolded.  You say Axl surely knew that dirty tricks were used by Big FD to get Slash/Duff to sign over the name.  Unless there is some recording or paper trail where he gives explicit instructions to try and coerce Slash/Duff into signing over the name, or he was actually in the room when it happened (which we know is not the case), then you have bases to say he SURELY knew.  Is it possible he knew?  It's possible.  Is it a certainty as you claim?  Absolutely not.  IMO, that is a more reasoned assessment than what you stated.

Does it matter if he knew?  He clearly had no issues invoking the clause.

I guess I went through my ac/dc phase pre-AFD...that may explain why I didn't get ac/dc anymore.  I used to love Back in Black.  It's still good, and as I mentioned it's not like I hate ac/dc.  This might be one of those things that changed when I heard WTTJ for the first time.  That was a life altering experience.

I've honestly loved the discussion - even the comments I think are insane.  Even though I don't think you can question that The Beatles are the greatest rock band ever, some have and they made some good points in the discussion (even if I don't agree with them).  I haven't seen too many comments that are just so out there that they are impossible to believe.

We all like different stuff - some of the music I like people would find completely laughable (Barry Manilow for example).  At some point there was a guilty pleasures thread (not sure if it was here or at the old site)...that was one of my favorite threads.  People listen to all kinds of stuff they enjoy - does it matter if someone else thinks it sucks?  Do you enjoy it less?  I know I don't.  Other than having some fun with some of the more outrageous comments, I don't care what people like and don't like really - it doesn't change my life at all.

All I do is make honest statements about how I feel.  It's not meant to bring others down or insult what they like.  I don't care what you like; I'm just stating why I don't like it or that I never understood what was so appealing about something.  I've just viewed this as a fun discussion...I'm not sure what the big deal is.

I never got the love for ac/dc.  I guess they have a few catchy pop songs, but I don't really consider them all that talented and certainly not an all-time killer act.  Their songs are basically all the same...doesn't mean I don't like some of them, but I've always thought of them as average at best.

Pissed isn't the right word.  It's the only even remotely interesting thing to talk about in the GnR world...

#1958 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N Roses vs Rush (Final Round - Vote Now!!) » 694 weeks ago

GnR should win this hands down, but then again they shouldn't be here in the first place.  I didn't look at the brackets, but I'll assume Rush shouldn't be there either.

This reminds me of how my band was defeated in the fantasy band contest.  wink

Ok - now to the real subject...why do GnR fans feel so insecure that they need to rig polls like this in their favor?  Isn't just knowing the band you love is great enough?  Does rigging the vote make other people love them more?  What's the point?

As ludicrous as it is that either one of them made the finals, I will gladly vote for GN'R. Can't stand Rush's fanbase.

I'm getting to the point that I can't stand either band's fanbase.

I can't stand certain elements of the GN'R fanbase (namely the Axlites and Slashites). Those two factions are a lot more prominent on sites like MYGNR, CD.com, and HTGTH. But most of the people here at GNR Evo seem to have a pretty normal view of things.

Agreed - that's why I'm here and not anywhere else.  smile
