I don't think that's it. MSL has been threatened with legal action in the past, and basically laughed it off. He's also been burned in the past by the GN'R camp, so unless they gave him the money up front, I highly doubt he was bought.

I think he knows something that is so big, that he would slit his own throat to reveal the information. He might be staying silent - FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FANS.

i don't either that is why i said i think he was paid off.

first - msl staying silent FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FANS?

msl has been basking in the limelight since the leaks and has been as far from silent as one can be. he obviously loves the attention so, unless he had a coming to jesus, that is incorrect.

second - msl staying quiet cause he has something big?

msl is the on that reported the november 25th release date with best buy. if i am wrong on the details i apologize but my point stays the same.

this will be big news if it is true and he put it on his site when he got it. msl is not staying silent cause he has big news that we don't know about.

is it possible that he knows something that we do not?

yes, but it is not possible that he keeping it a secret by his own motivation and without being paid off to do so.

the label does want a reunion because that will bring millions and millions of dollars for anything gnr does.  but they cannot make axl do that. the album will be relased without a reunion if axl is still against it.

There is no way he was paid off.  You don't sue one leaker and reward another.

wtf are you talking about?

gnr isn't suing anyone and they aren't rewarding msl

msl didn't break any laws. if he did he would be sitting next to skwerl.

msl became gnr's unofficial spokesperson and they didn't like it.

it's possible they bluffed, as gav said, by threatening legal action but i think they paid him off cause they didn't have a legal leg to stand on. that's not rewarding, that's doing all you can to stop the guy.

axl is not gonna forget about all of the hard work he has put into this album and either not release it or throw it out the window with no promo as an "unwanted democracy".

if there is a reunion before a cd tour it will be for money, and knowing the news alone will promote the cd.  i don't think the original members will want to play cd songs so that may or may not prevent it from happening.

if a reunion is possible in the next year i see it going like this:

announce reunion
release cd
tour the world (without playing news songs)

if they could get slash on the cd before this happens then we could have our cake and eat it too but i doubt that will happen.

some of these comments are rediculous. i am the first to admit that sales does not define the quality of music but really, it is one of the only "objective" ways to do so. Everything else is opinion. Right now you guys sound like you are arguing over your favorite colors and which ones are better. if you want to debate using music theory while comparing axl and gnr to the replacements go for it but so far none of you seem to have the knowledge to do so.

i don't think they are the same. testing the waters by putting it on a video game where most people will not have expectations for the song and releasing a single to the radio, itunes, etc are two different beasts. releasing a conventional single to the world really promotes new gnr and gives people an idea of what the album will sound like. managment and anyone else involved know as well as us or even better that this song does not sound anything like what people are gonna expect from gnr and it's long over due album. whether the expectations are fair or not does not matter. even us hardcore fans, who have been following this closely, expected something different. sr clearly does not match up with the other leaks, many of which have been confirmed to be on the album. if the cd release is near, expect a more classic sounding and more conventionally released single before november 25th or whenever it happens. we all know they have better songs to introduce the album to the world by. if this was the end of cd's chances at a release they would not choose this song and this release method as a desperate hail mary pass in the final seconds of the game, they would choose a song with a higher possibility of success. i do agree that a reunion before cd release is a possibility but only for sales reason.  i don't really think they need a specific lineup to promote the album cause if slash isn't on stage with axl noone will really care who else is.

shackler's revenge wasn't released as a single for a reason. my guess is it was never meant to be on cd until recently when new management presented axl with the oppurtunity to release a new song in the game. since it was most likely  the best song he had for a video game, they seized the oppurtunity.

i was responding to the album release - i don't know about any world tour nor was it mentioned. now it makes a little sense but.........

gnr is gonna tour cd well past march. they are gonna have to postpone the album/tour farther off then that if what you are hoping for comes true.

Is that a serious question?

nin isn't gonna postpone shows for gnr and even if trent was willing to do so it would not be necessary to do so in ocotber. cd will be out by november at the earliest and then a tour.

i don't think a buckethead/brain album would affect cd sales at all. people will buy this album to hear axl.

nor do i think cd album release would harm buckethead/brain album sales either.
