He also started a big law suit about not getting paid for things from GNR and was drunk at the time of the visit. He could have easily said bad things about some of the guys in VR to Beta. At that point he would have fucked a snake to talk with Axl and if nothing else just to get Perla off his back. She was the one who wanted the reunion at that time. But then the whole thing backfired on Slash when Axl called the press. It could have cost him loosing VR and then he would have nothing."
So Axl did not lie about that afterall

I had to pass on Chicago and Boston. Just wasn't doable right now with the finances. Plus they'll be hitting Vancouver at the end of October which I plan to attend and then they'll be back in NA in 2010 and I plan to go to Ireland next year as well so. I had to tone it down if I plan on seeing them next year as well.

Only other time I have been this happy about getting tickets to a show was GN'R at GM Place Nov 7 2002 my 19th birthday. I hope this one goes better than that one did

Neemo I dont think interviews are bad, and I wish Axl would do more.
looking at Axls interviews that he has done he seems very reluctant to talk about the more private strugles that have gone on within the old band, and I give him cedit for that (Duff as well for the most part) even if that means the story stays more or less one sided.
But it seems like every time he opens his mouth most people want to hold him acountable for things he seems to think are (at worst) untrue or (at least) unfair in his eyes. Given his reluctance to speak up on the private details that would clear things up it's sort of like being between a rock and a hard spot if you know what I mean.
