Any strategy games to recommend these days? Something where I can play the whole game just using a mouse? Tried loading up some Total War games yesterday and got a strong feeling of fatigue. There's only so many hundred hours you can play the same games. New ones in that series are shite.

I'm quite surprised there isnt a louder voice unhappy about how the film is a blatant recycling of the the original, c'mon to fuck its the same fuckin story!!?? Except its a more PC version of the originals, any flip side you can imagine of the originals has been shoehorned in, black instead of white, female instead of male, gay instead of straight, old instead of young, orange instead of blue...
To me the fan reaction is more disappointing than the movie. I didn't expect much from Disney. Why was SW so popular in the first place if fans are happy with perfectly generic elements?
Torrents for me from here on. I might never watch TFA again. No use in it.

If they decide to make another album together it will be interesting to see how Slash copes with Axl's way of making music again. And if they manage to make it work I'd be very excited to see the result. One hasn't worked with a singer/song writer like Axl for 20 years, the other hasn't had a guitar player like Slash for as long.
Could result in magic.

So true. Those two just look right together. Still the epitome of cool, the best singer/guitarist partnership in rock.
Seeing that first stream will be absolutely surreal. What will Axl say? Will they hug? What will they play? I'm getting jittery like a kid on christmas thinking about it.
Had the opposite effect for me..
That vid is what it's going to be like live, footage/people cut & pasted. One guy on the side of the stage, 5 feet away from him is his bandmate but the guy hates him & is only there for the money & wants nothing to do with him. Worried there'll be no atmosphere - or worse a really bad one - coming from the band.. Can't see them being too friendly. Hope I'm wrong tho. Stage needs to be small keep them all closely together, can't see that happening either.
With any other band, sure. But this is Axl. I doubt he would take the stage with Slash just for the money. I think they have truly made up. Might not be best friends, but I'm not afraid it will be awkward.

What's funny is the friction of different musical influence/direction is a huge reason GN'R was great and it's a big reason they broke up much faster than a band like AC/DC that just pumps out the same fucking thing for 40 years. I dig AC/DC as much as anyone and you have to admire them for soldiering on after Bon's death, but their discography suffers from "too much of the same thing" syndrome.
I look at GN'R and think yeah it sucks that they broke up after a short time but at least they went in very different directions on their 2nd and 3rd/4th records. They could have stayed together and just rehashed Appetite about 10 different times over the last 25 years. We would miss out on all the very different but legitimately great material they gave us with Lies/UYI.
GN'R was a more volatile version of Led Zeppelin. Every album was different.
The reunion giving us their version of IV is a wet dream of mine. As a band they deserve it.

I think the next Axl/Cobain figure in rock will be female also.
I think the deadness of modern rock gives Axl a huge opportunity with Slash back in the band.
Rock will vanish with this generation. Relegated to a fringe genre, along with the likes of metal, soul and jazz.
Currently it is being carried by old bands and their 30+ year old fans who grew up with it. Straight pop will be the only game in town going forward.
