Chicago '92 is a great show at the height of the band's popularity. Always felt that way. Too bad Paradise City is cut off after the first minute at the end, leaves it feeling incomplete.
Perhaps a better metaphor for their career in general then (feeling incomplete)

Axlin12 some good points definitely. Sucks for the rest of the band who just want to show up and accept the award without all this drama.

Not trying to be a dick either, sorry Axlin12 if I came off that way.

I'll give Axl this -- he's consistent.
Give him credit, it takes hard work to keep up being Rock N' Roll's #1 HEEL in the history of the genre.
At the same time, people acting like this gives the pussy some sort of street cred, must have the Kool Aid hooked up through IV, going directly into their veins.
All this is, is Axl ducking out of the ring, running off with the belt, and refusing to give somebody a re-match for the title.
There's nothing "strong" or "honorable" about it. He's running away from it, like the pussy he is.
Screw that man. I'm not on any koolaid (not really a big fan of the new band) and I think Axl not showing up is fine. Doesn't say anything about him other than he doesn't want any part of the old band anymore and anyone acting like this shouldn't have been expected is fooling themselves. I never got hyped for RRHOF because Axl is Axl.
Axl is right too, the old band is done and people should finally accept that and stop getting excited about whatever rumors, superbowls or award shows are coming up. Be happy for what GNR was.
So besides the usual paranoid banter (boo boo RRHOF is conspiring against me!) I though Axl's message was fine. Just *imo*

Supaplex, mostly forums at first. It took me a long time to understand ANYTHING looking back. I would post hands and my stats and stuff for people to criticize. I would recommend doing that at liquidpoker.net in the small stakes forum. That's how I started learning. 2+2 is an option too, but the bigger community made it hard for me to sort the bad info from the good info at first.
One thing I definitely recommend in regards to 2+2 for someone starting out online poker, is going to the low stakes NLHE forum and reading some of the stickied threads. There's some invaluable information in them if you take it to heart.

Getting rid of Benza was bad, but I kind of enjoyed Gabe being campy by himself also. When they got rid of Gabe and the FTP folks stopped showing up, the show was completely ruined. Was not a fan of Norm at all. When they started adding that stupid shit like "Daniel Negreanu PokerStars Did You Know?!" and the stuff Kara did, the show started to feel like Poker After Dark 2.
Never wanted to spend the time to learn PLO, but I know a little bit about it.

This isn't totally on topic but I used to fucking love High Stakes Poker on GSN. Gabe Kaplin and poker pros were the best fucking entertainment ever. Seasons 4-6 are amazing, 1-3 is fun. 7 is a bust.

You clearly weren't around a few years ago. Now those were some soft games.
Pretty much this.
Anyways, it's nice to see a poker thread
I enjoy browsing 2+2 (spend most of my time on the politics board nowadays) and liquidpoker.net. Before black friday I played anywhere from a million to 1.5 million hands over twoish years on Full Tilt. Was lucky enough to coincidentally cash out most of my roll a month and a half before it was shut down.
Since Black Friday I've had no real desire to play on the remaining US sites. Just seems too risky. I really do miss spending afternoons playing... and being excited when miniFTOPS and FTOPS rolled around
. Fucking US government.
If anyone wants pdfs of 'The Poker Blueprint', 'The No-Limit Hold'em Workbook' or 'Let There Be Range' send me a PM. All pretty good books for online play. Let There Be Range is a $1500+ book so... yeah, if you play and want it, you are getting a pretty good deal
.

Gas was around $4.20 last summer in LA. Sucked.
Driving back from Vegas I saw gas for $4.63
. Granted it was in the middle of the desert, but it was still a trip.
