Velvet Revolver axe Aussie tour for health reasons

AMERICAN rockers Velvet Revolver have postponed next week's Australian tour citing "health issues".
The band, formed by former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland with Guns N' Roses legends Slash and Duff McKagan, had two concerts scheduled at the Enmore Theatre next Wednesday and Thursday.
They were forced to pull their dates in Japan when immigration officials refused their visa requests due to the criminal backgrounds of some of their members, particularly Weiland, who has a long history of battling drug addiction.
Neither the band's record label SonyBMG nor Australian promoter KMW Productions were able to explain the last-minute change of heart by the band - with a spokeswoman saying Velvet Revolver management would not go into details about the mysterious health issues and which band members were afflicted.
Slash conducted interviews with Australian media yesterday and was excited about the band returning to Australia to perform.
The promoter is expected to release details about the rescheduling of the tour and refund of tickets later today.

You know, i haven't realized until now just exactly how much is riding on our next election. There's almost too much, and it just seems like we are going to need some super-human president to even start getting us out of this mess.
Raise taxes, immediately. Or are they afraid that in doing so they would spark a snow-balling of protests against the war and Bush's presidency?

You know, i think there is some insight buried deep inside the bs of this article.
For one, marketting strategies are not usually negotiated until they have a firm product done. I am sure they have negotiated marketing before now, but it is very possible they are doing it again, seeing as it's a new year, so they do have to keep the marketing strategies relevant to really make an impact.
The one thing i don't get is Universal not doing a large scale promotion, it just doesn't make sense. Why not shove this album down the consumer's throats to boost sales as much as humanly possible?
However, there could also be found some truth (slight chance, i know). Axl stated in his letter that they would do an 8 week, full scale promotion for this record. So what is Universal turned down Axl's propositions?
Just a thought really.

I wish i could remember the name of it, but the Air Force has another bomber in the "B" series that is currently classified. I saw one picture of it, but we would have practically been thrown in jail if we would have taken a picture of it. It's currently not for public view.
I wouldn't be suprised if they had a few of those over there also.
You know, i really would have liked to believe that our government would have learned from their mistakes both in the past and with the current war to plan things out more, not just go in and bomb someone like that.
The best plan of action for our government is to pull out, and accept our losses. But with admitting that we made a mistake, comes fixing that mistake, and changing the leadership of this country. I am getting sick and tired of Bush limiting our rights, putting us in wars that are unecessary, and destroying the financial stablilty that Clinton gave us.
When over 2/3'rds of the country is saying that their 'leader' is not acting in their best interests, it's time for a change.

It is mind boggling that someone with a record like that was allowed within a light year of the White House. They did a great job in 99-00 at hiding his record and making sure no one was interested in actually looking.
He was mainly elected because the country was suffering from Clinton fatigue. Not really Clinton's fault, as fatigue usually sets in on presidents who have two terms. Also, people thought the country was doing so good it didn't really matter who won, its why it was literally split down the middle between Bush and Gore.
I had no idea how much he had actually done wrong, they really hid the majority of this stuff from the public.
That is why i absoultely hate this two party system. We are basically given the choice between two people, and if both those people aren't worthy candidates (the last 2 elections for example), we have to choose between the lesser of two evils.
In this case, i'm starting to think we should have chosen the democrat the last election. We would be a lot better off i think. I don't think we would be the most hated country in the world right now.

God we are so fucked.
All i can say, is that 2009 will NOT come soon enough.
I think it's time to impeach.
