Not sure how we got onto this topic but... I love 2 Matchbox albums, and like their middle one alright too. If I were making a rock band from any and every musician around today I might have Rob Thomas front it.

I wouldn't let him front it, but I'd sure let him write a few hit singles.:butt:

Very true.  He's never been much of a frontman.  You'd need someone who knows how to play a crowd, and is more charismatic than him.

I made some vegetable and beef stir-fry.  It was amazing.  511

I'm not fond of this kind of thing. Yeah its meant to be funny, but it makes a mockery out of the whole thing. Like when Hulk Hogan ran for President and Gary Coleman ran for Governor of California.

Oh come on, you have to admit, he would be better than a lot of the candidates.

I'd have to hear his stance on healthcare, but i'm considering voting for him.

The Last Fight, while a strong track, is not as strong as Fall to Pieces, and SBQM is not as strong as Slither.  Get Out the Door is really their only chance, but it won't be enough to save them or salvage any hype for this album.

Promotion and everything for this album was all wrong.  It's like they just gave up.  Their first video/single didn't help matters one bit.

I disagree with Just Sixteen being a good lead off single.  That song to me is really weak.  Scott is playing the cock rocker and really the only good part of that song is Slash's solos.  It's not even really that catchy.  Get Out the Door or Let It Roll would have been good choices for their first single, then followed shortly after by The Last Fight, then wrapping it up with which ever of the first two weren't chosen first.

Tracklisting on the album was poor too.  Take off the ELO cover, as well as Spay and For a Brother.  And put on Psycho Killer and Messages.  Make the whole album just 12 songs (plus the bonus), and release For a Brother as a b-side, and just leave the ELO cover and Spay to rot.  That would have saved album sales a lot i think, combined with better promotion and a first single.

I have no clue.   Where do they release the list?  Is it a mag, website, etc?

As far as I know, it gets sent to music stores.  The fact that we haven't heard of one yet makes me think it's been released and it hasn't contained any GNR releases so no one rushed to the online community to tell us all about it.  Simply put, people don't care enough anymore to tell us that the album's not coming out.

Because everyone is finally realizing that it won't see the light of day this year.  I've noticed a severe decrease in the number of release date rumors from last year around this time.  But then again, GNR were active then.  16

Anyone else buy this book?

If you haven't already bought it, or haven't heard of it, i reccommend you buy it as soon as you can.  This is a wonderful book on GNR, straight back to the early roots in '85 right up until AFD in '87.  Tons of unseen photos, including pictures of Slash in 6th grade, his first bands, as well as Axl, Steven and Duff's first bands.  This guy did a great job putting together this to really give you a feel for what it was like for these guys.

And it's interesting to see that Axl really was a pompous ass before he had any success.  During one concert as Hollywood Rose, Izzy's band London was opening for them, and Axl tore up a banner for London on stage.  16
