And Superunknown is a great album. But O'Brien didn't produce it, he mixed it. Michael Beinhorn produced that album, who also produced Ozzmosis, and a Bronx album with Gilby Clarke.

How could he have left LA Guns... then while that band continues on, start a new LA Guns? We don't need two LA Guns!

Yeah, both him and Terry Date like to try and capture the feel of it... that's all good and dandy, but if you want the most feel, record a live album. I think a studio album should have some feel, but should also be polished. You're in the studio how long and spending how much money? A studio album should be the bands sound at it's finest.

Rob Thomas - Vocals, Piano
Freddie Mercury - Vocals, Piano
Slash - Lead Guitar
BBF - Rhythm/Lead Guitar
Izzy Stradlin - Rhythm Guitar, Songwriting
Paul McCartney - Bass, Vocals
Phil Collins - Drums, VocalsI think this band could have as much flexibility musically as any band since the Beatles. 4 guys that can sing, all very good at their instruments, and combining the guitar songwriting of Izzy/Slash with the arrangements of Freddie and Paul could be insane. Obviously this could never work (or happen) but I think it could be one of the most interesting bands to hear.
I included BBF because he's shown the willingness and abilty to handle both lead and rhythm parts and he brings something to the table that Slash can't/doesn't with his speed - obviously there are other guitarists that could fit that role as well.
Izzy is included for a similar reason. There are other guitarists that can fill that role, but Izzy and Slash were amazing complimenting each other and he brings so much ability in songwriting for the guitar.
Damn. I don't usually agree with you on much... but that would be a hell of a band. Kudos on including Rob Thomas.

That sucks. I hope he's just doing his thing until GNR tours. I always really liked Fortus. His playing doesn't stand out the most on recording, but damn does he put on a good live show.

Blabbermouth.net, Dec 29 2008-
A television show based on the Tracii Guns-led version of L.A. GUNS is currently being shopped to different networks. The guitarist stated in an online posting, "Our label paid to have the show made. I saw the first six episodes… fucking hilarious! Once the show is sold, then we find out the air dates, then we start marketing dollars for the release of the [group's new studio] record, so as of now it's a waiting game." He added, "The name of the band will not be L.A. GUNS for this TV show and album, but we will do some nostalgia shows and festivals as L.A. GUNS… basically just having fun and playing tunes."
Tracii Guns' L.A. GUNS is not to be confused with the Phil Lewis-fronted group, which is also continuing to record and perform under the L.A. GUNS moniker.
The band's new album featuring new singer Marty Casey will be released next year via Alexus Records.
Marty Casey is the former contestant on the hit CBS-TV "reality" show "Rock Star: INXS".

From Blabbermouth
GUNS N' ROSES has denied that the release of the band's new video for the song "Better" is being held up by a legal matter involving METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich.
A December 29, 2008 online posting by Fernando Lebeis, who is a known associate of GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose, implied that Ulrich's image was featured in the clip and his release form needed to be signed before the video could be distributed and promoted to music video television programmers worldwide.
Responding to questions on the GUNS N' ROSES fan board MyGNRForum.com regarding the delay in the release of the "Better" clip, Fernando Lebeis wrote, "Tell Lars to OK the vid and it's done. That's all that is pending." When asked by a fan who the "Lars" was that he was referring to, Fernando replied, "Lars Ulrich. We are pending his release form to be signed."
After this story was originally published, Fernando Lebeis contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET to say that his posting (which has since been edited/removed) on MyGNRForum.com "was a fun comment and not an attack on Lars." He also included the following official statement from GUNS N' ROSES regarding the matter:
"Lars isn't holding anything up with our video. Our message board comments were meant casually, in fun and amongst friends. Unfortunately, someone with Blabbermouth may have taken things a bit out of context and made them into a bit more than they are in reality.
"Our apologies to anyone who may have been confused.
"We hope to have our video out shortly.
"Thank you."
Ulrich was reportedly seen backstage at a number of GUNS N' ROSES shows on the band's 2006 tour and even performed the song "Out Ta Get Me" with GN'R on December 15, 2006 during Axl Rose and company's headlining appearance at the Oracle Arena (formerly Oakland Arena) in Oakland, California.
"Better" is the second single from GUNS N' ROSES' new album, "Chinese Democracy", which sold 56,000 copies in the United States in its fourth week of release to land at position No. 33 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD has shifted 421,000 units since it was released on November 23 as a Best Buy exclusive after a wait of more than 15 years.

Yes, the Brendan O'Brien of Pearl Jam fame. He produced Libertad too. I just read that he's also producing the new Mastodon album as well. I'm kind of scared.
