This is beyond ridiculous now.  Anyone think it's a hoax or something?  I mean, the guy's name in Dan Druff... You think some Head & Shoulders would help solve the crime?  Either way, this is bullshit.  First update we get from GNR and this is it.  What do they think?  The guy who stole the bike is a GNR fan and will realize what he did and return the bike so that his favourite band will be happy?  This is so stupid.

It isn't a hoax. Someone at mygnr actually looked up this guy. He really exists.

Lol, I think this guy Dan Druff played bass in the video for QOTSA's Little Sister. But I may be wrong, I used to follow QOTSA a lot more, and thought at the time 'They replaced Oliveri with something called Dan Druff?!'

Expect a press release soon saying Slash stole it and burnt the seat with cigarettes.

Yes! This will likely be the first time we get to hear the new Crowes material. I'm stoked about this album.

The new Crowes single 'Goodbye Daughters Of The Revolution' is up on their website today. Havn't heard it yet as I'm stuck at work so if you hear it let us know how it is!!

Hope to see them in London in April. However the ridiculous smoking ban really doesn't help at a Crowes gig!!! Im sure they'll be firing up a few fatties tho. It didnt stop Slash having a few Gitanes....

Glad I'm not off to see Cypress Hill!

Listening to it right now. It's pretty good. It kinda sound like a mix between Three Snakes And One Charm and By Your Side.

Will check it out later. Was hoping for a Southern Harmony/Amorica kinda thing, but still looking forward to it!

Lol really? You'll be very happy with the new album then I am sure!! It'll be like Puppets compared to that. The only way is up from there!

Some good drums and solos will be nice as NYGiants says. Kirk was so downtrodden on that last album, Lars and James need to realise that the guy is/was a killer lead player.

Wish they had a better bass player than that surfy crab thing Rob Trujillo. They so shouldve gone with Scott Reeder from Kyuss....

OH DUDE... Trujillo is amazing!

check this out...IMO Trujillo is the only saving grace...he may actually pull the guys back..specially Hammett

Oh I dont disagree that hes a great bass player because he is very talented, he just seems like a really weird fit for Metallica. I had to turn off Live8 when he was doing all those retarded moves, I dunno, he just really grinds my gears!!

Only time will tell if theres any coming back for these guys or whether they'll produce another steaming pile.

I guess they'll never do anything as bad as Invisible Kid ever again though lol so thats a blessing...

#315 Re: The Sunset Strip » METALLICA Discussion » 922 weeks ago

I'm sure its going to be awful, Metallica just can't cut it. I'm surprised they even bother to big themselves up anymore.

Oh well, at least we may get the chance to remember that Kirk is still in the band on this album. Wish they had a better bass player than that surfy crab thing Rob Trujillo. They so shouldve gone with Scott Reeder from Kyuss....

Still, I'm sure I'll be one of the mugs buying it when it comes out and hoping that its gonna crush like Ride The Lightning but I guess it'll just be a damp squib, a bit like Slayer's Christ Illusion in the attempt to capture former glories.

Heres hoping that it'll be good though!!

btw was he playing slither at the end?

Amen to that Neemo.

I bet Slash hasnt been rehearsing WTTJ for 10 years now so we'll cut him some slack.

Oh no, not another reason for a delay mad

I'm reading Slash's book right now and every page is steering me towards thinking that the old band should reform. Nothing against the new guys, I just don't think its meant to be after this massive wait.

Another thing that got me, when Bumblefoot quoted that he was trying to inject some 'sleaze' into the new songs...I think it sounds really fabricated...in order to do that it seems to me that you need to be a bit sleazy in the fist place, don't you think?

I agree with you on all counts here. Slash's book really made me yearn for the good old days. Even if he did make a spelling mistake on page 86 damn him.

I remember commenting at the time about BF's remark. Cant remember exactly what he said but it was along the lines of injecting some sleaze to make it sound more authentically GNR. Well no offense but the old GNR were sleazy which is why they sounded like they did. Plus if those guys are GNR then it should sound like GNR, sleazy or not. They could make an album of pan pipe music (with hip hop beats of course) and it should sound authentically like GNR because thats who they are right?

But that may not be exactly what BF said anyway and I'm sure someone would be more than happy to correct me if I am wrong..!

Anyway thats besides the point and I apologize for straying from the subject.

Jimmy Iovine is just another name to add to a list of excuses that have worn thin long ago...

I may just have to get tickets for this one, especially if VR are running out of steam 18

Yep, Brixton is the best venue in London for sure. Tool there just kicked ass. I'll be getting tickets for this one. VR are suited to places like this.

The Machinist is actually near the top of my Netflix queue, so I will be seeing that in probably a week or so. I saw a preview of it before watching Enduring Love, and it looks interesting.

I'm not knocking the guy for prior films, its just the forcefeeding aspect that I hate. Ever since our country got dumbed down this decade, we have to be told who to like and it is a huge turn off. Thats why we got fed Lohan, Hilton, Vin Diesel, etc. and now Christian Bale. I do not like manufactured movie stars that come rolling along out of the Hollywood spin machine.

Well I don't know if it's being told per say.  Lohan and the tabloids chicks definintely because you constantly see them everywhere.  Someone like Christian Bale I think is an entirely different league as you really don't see him everywhere and being shoved down our throats.

My thinking with this film concerning him is they saw what he did with Batman and giving him a shot with Terminator, although 1 and 2 are tough acts to follow.    Believe it or not, I never even heard of Christian Bale until after Batman and that is when I started watching is prior films.

Bale is a great actor. Just watch the Machinist (on of my fave movies) and Harsh Times. He was also great in American Psycho and nailed the character perfectly- but the film was rubbish compared to the book despite him unfortunately.

As for the Terminator - well I doubt even he can help such a knackered franchise. As they say 'You cant polish a turd'.
