The Mole, I don't think the average fan has your expert ear. Axl is often flat or sharp, Slash sometimes can be loose or flub a note here and there. I couldn't hear anything terrible with Adler's drumming but I don't have a trained ear for drumming. If we hold Adler to those standards should we hold Slash and Axl to the same? None of those guys are going to ever do a perfect gig.
Not really, I'm not expecting or even hoping for perfection. But speaking from experience, nothing is more frustrating than a drummer that doesn't keep time will when playing live, especially if he's all over the place in a single song. When Axl fucks up a note, or Slash fumbles a riff or solo it only affects their part. If the drummer fucks up his timing, it affects the entire band. The drums need to be super tight, other instruments not so much.

otto wrote:Brain: his personal style doesn't merge well with Old Gnr material, as he is a more funky fusion drummer, not much a hard rock type.
Uh huh.
Brain struggled since Day 1 of his audition, as he was trying out with a fusion setup. Then, he just scaled it down and started hammering. That shift to straight-laced power drumming is how he found a way to cope with the back catalogue. More than once, Axl singled him out after they played November Rain live. 'Good old Brain, bashing the hell out of a love song,' etc.
I recognize Brain has amazing skills, but it bothered me to no end that a lot of the mid-tempo songs sounded really rushed when he played them live.

The Mole, I am very impressed with your drum analytics! What about Sorum? Is he a human metronome? Frank?
Don't be... I'm not a drummer, I know just about enough to get a good dynamic recording out of a drummer. Having said that, I agree almost entirely with Otto's assessment of the three drummers. I do feel that Matt gets way more flack than he deserves. I would actually prefer him over Adler (Frank as well, by the way). But then again, I was 11 years old when Adler was kicked out, so I've grown up with Sorum's drumming mostly.

America hasn't had a leader like that for a very long time. It could be a great success that America needs or a total fucking disaster.
Trump is not nearly intelligent enough to be a real leader of an important and influential nation. Nor is he educated enough. It'd be a disaster of unseen proportions.
Sanders is a fucking loon, "Global Warming is the reason we have ISIS" (
). Hilary... I would vote for Satan himself before Hilary, less risk, let's put it that way.
He never said that, he said "Global warming is the biggest threat to our national security", which admittedly is also a silly position to take. Bernie states that the reason we have ISIS is the second Gulf war, and I would tend to agree with that.
And yes Obama's birth certificate was a hoax/hackjob. I didn't believe it at first, and thought it was neo-Con conspiracy, but when I looked into it... yes, everything about Obama was a total fucking work.
Any and all of the physical evidence for this has been debunked, all that's left are so called expert reports. I think you had it right the first time around: this is a neo-con conspiracy theory.

Here's Adler in 2015. Granted, it's a rehearsal setting with a backing tape, but how do you like his drumming?
That's much better! Maybe he was nervous in the live setting? Having said that, you can still hear what I was talking about in this video as well at one point (3:28-ish), when the songs goes into the coda, the fill he's playing is a bit inconsistent there on the seventh snare hit (it comes a fraction late). I know this might sound awfully nitpicky, and truth it really is not worthy of bringing up here in this video, but in the HOF videos he does this kind of thing many times over in each song (at least the two I've seen: PC and SCOM).
He still masters his snare hits though. That rimshot is bang on each time, which is the hallmark of a good rock drummer: you can only get a good fat rock sound when every 'regular' non-roll snare hit is a rimshot.

"Episodes" (that HBO show) with LeBlanc is actually pretty damn good.

I just saw the HOF performance for the first time, and I gotta say I was unpleasantly surprised with Steven's performance. He's very inconsistent throughout any given song, which is very unfortunate. Props to him for being as good as he still is, given his medical problems, but it's nowhere near the level needed for a professional touring band in my opinion. I really hope they settle for Matt or Frank, and let Steven maybe do one or two special guest appearance on a song or two at most. Anything more would be... unfortunate.
I also don't buy the Coachella rumor, they could decide on a drummer on the day of the first show and there would still not be an issue, no reason for them to rush things if they haven't made up their minds (our brokered a deal) yet.

At least that North Korean song doesn't like the demo loop from a Casiotone 501

Fyi past and present band members are fair game when it comes to criticism. Not forum members though.

And as long as it stays that way he can relish in his butt hurt all he wants.

SG just goes on and on about the same thing in every topic which is, basically, 'fuck pitman, fuck frank, fuck fortus' and it's getting tiresome.
His 'point of view' is the only one that sticks out.
The rest of the people here have pretty much expressed their opinion respectfully from what i read.
I don't know (or care) what goes on at other forums.
I feel no need to defend him, but I've not once seen SG be disrespectful to another forum member.
