#3451 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose's Religion » 698 weeks ago

From what I've seen it sounds like Axl has a combination of different spiritual beliefs. I saw him taking elements of Buddhism and Christianity. While exploring different other areas of spirituality and psychological studies. He seems to be more at peace with himself as a person and at peace with the life he has now and what's happened in the past. Back in 2008/2009, he looked stressed as fuck due to Chinese Democracy coming out and the reaction from the public; but now he seems to be having the time of his life. Then all the media and Slash is a cancer didn't help either. (Abu Dhabi breakdown too) Now he sounds like he's starting to back off and look more fondly on the old days and looking towards the future of Guns. Which he should be doing now in his age.

I think 4shared has a server based in Texas, or is that MediaFire?

Either way, alot of these U.S.-based ones are scared to death.

I think it's a knee jerk reaction. If they don't come back, they'll be replaced imo.

I'm going to flip a shit if MediaFire gets shut down or they decide to close down on their own terms due to the fear of being reported. Even though I think I got all my music and crap taken care of for the time being.

#3453 Re: Guns N' Roses » Favorite GN'R Song Of All-Time » 698 weeks ago

Night train has to be my favorite GNR song off of Appetite and of course Jungle!! big_smile Night train just is fun to sing along and the riffs are just electrifying. Steven's opening cowbell pounding on part of the drum kit, Slash & Izzy's battling guitar chemistry. Axl's bad ass vocals!! I COULD GO ON..ladies & gents. Jungle is just the greatest hard rock anthem out there! Paradise City..is on my list too!! I can't pick a favorite cause I love November Rain, YCBM, Civil War, Patience...

For Chinese Democracy: Probably Better and Madagascar are my favs. Better has that classic GNR tone but with a modern sound filled with Axl's angry lyrics. personally I don't mind the extra keyboards on it. I love how it's played live now. DJ pulls off that riff pretty well. Got to give it up to my man Robin Finck for bringing that song together though. Madagascar was probably one of the first songs off of Chinese that I heard from live youtube vids; so I was curious how the final studio version was going to sound like. When I finally picked up Chinese and listened to it in it's entirety for the first time it took some time to grow on me. At first I was like what's with Axl's raspy vocals, then I'm like..yeahh..I'm digging this tone..and the synth horn arrangment is just great!! Buckethead's shining moment on the guitar solo featuring the MLK Jr. and movie references made this into a masterpiece.

VAN HALEN'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH!!! big_smile Buying it the first week it comes out, baby!! Dave & Eddie back in the studio making some good old fashioned rock n' roll! From what the early listeners said that have heard the whole album, it is amazing!!  I would put Black Sabbath on that list. Maybe a possible Guns N' Roses album in the near future too. I'm going with Axlin and keeping my fingers crossed! xD

First show after Chinese was officially released. Thanks dude!! ROCK ON!

#3456 Re: Guns N' Roses » Current member poll » 699 weeks ago

I'm just hoping Mother Goose gets some love for first choice from some members. Personally without him Chinese Democracy wouldn't have achieved Axl's vision or finished with the right modern touches in order to get it shipped out. Even it still was delayed another 6 years when it was actually ready but panned by management back in 2003. I hope he continues on his massive work in the new album with this lineup. I hope he does something with Silkworms and the ikeyboard and other instrumentals. Seeing him rock out on bass on youtube on it proves that he is a true member of GNR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC5w2wr6eOY
That's why he is Chris Motherfucking Goose Pitman Ladies and Gents!!

Personally, I think whatever happens at RRHOF won't be the deciding factor on making new decisions with the current lineup or any of the alumni. I think it will end all the specs and also some of the feuding between the different camps. The guys will make peace, accept the award, maybe do a performance with various members of the band past & present, walk off stage, and move on with their lives. As long as they don't Van Halen RRHOF the situation, I'll happy with anything else. The only announcement Axl should make would be that the current version of the band will continue on. Maybe collaborating or at least getting back in touch with the original members and being friends would be a nice change of scenery. It's not going to take a few hours of accepting an award to get rid of all the backlash. I know Steven Adler wishes it. It will take some time. What's the point of doing a reunion if everyone isn't going to get along or be on board with smiles 100%? Anything is possible nowadays. We'll just have to wait and see who shows up. I don't think getting CD-2 out will interfere with a reunion show because the current guys respect the old band and understand any decision that comes their way with Axl.

#3458 Re: The Sunset Strip » Van Halen Discussion » 700 weeks ago

Axlin, I agree with your statement. It made up for how disappointing those 3 songs with Sammy were back in 04. Plus..it's really Dave's slam dunk after having not recorded a song of original material since his album flopped in 03. I thought the bluegrass version of Jump he did in 06 was pretty badass. xD  It's something for Eddie and the guys to be proud of. First piece of new material released with Eddie shreading and proving he is still the man! Even though Without You ('98) with Gary was a pretty good song too. Kneel before the mighty Van Halen!!
