The song took me a few times to really grow on me. I think it's a pretty good laid back song that has Dave written all over it. Eddie's guitar playing is just Eddie being a badass. He's playing like the good ol' days. I'm hoping Wolfgang gets a ton of chances to shine on this album too. Since this song was mostly about Dave & Eddie, really. Alex is still banging the shit out of the drums and being Alex Fucking Van Halen. The brothers still got it that's for sure. No doubt about that. Definitely not the best choice for the first single or Van Halen's most disappointing song. Plus..it's been a long time. Me Wise Magic and Can't Get This Stuff No More were awesome songs that were a great taste of what could of been. I'm just glad most of the band are getting along. Love listening to them on my ipod. I know the better songs are probably going to be on the new album. So excited!! Making a plan with a friend to see them in March. Only a few weeks to go till A Different Kind of Truth!!!

I see. I wish you the best with that. xD I'm hoping to go to CES one of these days. So I can see what the next tech product I should invest in. I need to go to Vegas in general. The Beatles Love Cirque show and the buffet tables!!! I'm hoping the next US tour they bring If the World and TWAT back. Oh My God being played by this version of the band would kick so much ass!! I'm hoping Axl decides to use that song again instead of just the band rehearsing it during sound check. They should add Dead Horse & Yesterdays into the set list. I think if they drop a few covers it could happen. Some new songs or the full version of The General would be pretty sweet. But hey a guy can dream can he?

Plus Ron is a badass on a double neck guitar!! My man Frank The Thunderchucker Tank Ferrer. I think if these guys help the other guys with the record I think it will please die hard Guns fans as well as fans like us that stuck by every era/lineup of the band. I'm just hoping the band comes back to the states soon and does a long show in my area!! I need to get my ass kicked by Guns N' Roses!! The show would just be amazing!!

I'm loving the elaborations and descriptions of everyone's choices. Keep it up. Personally I choose Ron, DJ, Chris, Dizzy, and Bucket. Richard is an amazing player though and brings that GNR punk attitude which I like seeing in the live performances. Frank is the best live drummer they ever had since Sorum and listening to him on Bumble's solo stuff has been a pleasure too. I'm glad he adding his sound to some of the CD tracks. Even though I think Brain's style is quite interesting; but Frank has the drum sound GNR needs right now. Tommy is a bad ass bass player and has helped kept the legacy alive with his backing vocals and constant support. I loved Robin's guitar solo and parts on Chinese Democracy. He was an important member of the new generation of Guns after the UYI/TSI lineups fell apart. I just think DJ plays Slash's parts better live now there is more of that Guns sound in them. I liked that Robin brought his own feel to them. No problems with any of the alumni that are still in or have left the band.

I'm not sure that Axl will completely ignore those demos and tracks. I'm sure eventually the label they go into will release most of the material from the last several years as well as finance the current lineup's new album featuring songs written by DJ, Axl, maybe Tommy or Bumble.

Or they should just create a big box set called The Chinese Democracy Archive, with all the demos and different versions of the songs on there. Put the fucking thing to bed, and make an album from the ground up with the new band.
That's why I have been thinking they should do as well. I would buy that in a heart beat no matter the price! xD

Wanted to see who you guys like the most out of any of the lineup changes from 1997 to today. After Duff and Matt left. I'm not putting Axl on here of course. Enjoy! Let the debates begin!

Interesting to know he's written 12 songs for Axl now.
Don't want to get carried away...but at the same time I wonder if DJ might be the guy who gets the ball rolling again. I mean while Axl writes some amazing things on his own, it also seems a lot of his classics evolved from him adding his touch to music that was started by Izzy/Slash/Paul etc.
I feel that live DJ was the missing piece of the puzzle, it would be cool if with him in the band he could finish the CD2 songs and write these new ones and we could wind up with a lot more material. Depending on what happens with the business side I guess.
Personally I think he might be the guy to give Axl the encouragement to get the show on the road. Say what you want about DJ; but the guy knows how to play his cards right. The guy knows how the music business works nowadays and teaming up with Axl & the guys is going to be magical. He's had a great success with the recent SIXX AM record and the single charts for "The Lies" were very strong. I hear Skin and a few other songs from it are doing well too. A good hard rock sound on radio and some music videos will help alot. He can give that edge to make sure that material sells even though Better, Chinese, and Street could of have huge on radio and retail singles from Hot Topic or other places given the proper treatment. Chinese did pretty good on iTunes when it was first release to the nearing weeks of the album's release. The problem is if DJ finds out that Sixx AM isn't going to be a touring band then he should get into promoting Guns more and getting fans pumped. Selling Guns related merch wouldn't be a bad thing either. The guy is a business man as well as a musician trying to make a living. I respect that. Speaking of Paul Tobias, I just want to know what the hell is going on with him. He shows up a ton on Chinese which is awesome since he was on the project from the beginning.

Well I would take this with a grain of salt when it comes to Guns making any kind of plans involving touring or anything else. At least DJ and Axl are doing something in terms of thinking of ideas and writing songs. That's a big step for the guys right now. As long as it doesn't take another 10 years to record a few songs, I'm happy. It sounds like DJ wants to make a record from the ground up with the current lineup which is actually a good idea. I agree with the rest of you on the concept of waiting after the induction or during the induction to see what Axl and the GNR alumni past and present wants to do. Is the original lineups going to play? Will it just be Steven and Slash? It's going to be quite a story when it all goes down. I think the perfect idea toward the end is that everyone who showed that has been in the band comes on stage and does an epic version of Paradise City to blow the roof off the Hall.

Tbh, that part right there actually sounds a little creepy.

The world has to end like Nolan's movies.
Think of the world coming to a close like the ending of TDK
Awesome!
I'm down with that. Batman & GNR is the perfect combination. Axl will be taken up on a chariot of fire!
