Nice move by Axl to bail him out. That said it was not Slash and Duff's responsibility (or Axl's). Maybe they thought shit you already made some bucks from riding the GNR coat tails, time to stand on your own two feet and live with the consequences of your actions.

I certainly don't see it as a slight on Slash and Duff for not bailing him out. But at the same time a classy move by Ax.

LOL, how can anyone like Better with Ashba is beyond me fucking soulless wah wankfest, terrible tone and sound but hey, if some deaf idiots like his playing so be it.

Just because some people like it doesn't make them deaf idiots. Tone down the insults. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and just because it happens to differ from yours it doesn't make them wrong.

I've only listened to Gon Down so far. I really like the vibe of the song, but quite honestly I could do without the Axl background vocals and as Dave said, the guitar solo sounds horribly out of place with the song. I agree it sounded like it was taken from somewhere else and just pasted in there. The song shows promise tho.

God why can't we just get given some proper finished tunes!

Yeah I was surprised to see it too. Hadn't heard he had got engaged, it seems like only yesterday he was going out with that Aussie chick Nicky Whealen.

LAS Vegas police are investigating whether employees went too far for reportedly helping the guitarist of Guns N' Roses execute a grand romantic gesture.
Daren Jay "DJ'' Ashba posted a photo on Instagram Saturday of himself and his girlfriend, Colombian actress and model Nathalia Henao, wearing helicopter headgear. He thanked the Las Vegas police department for "the most amazing" private helicopter tour over the city, saying it ended in a field at police headquarters, where he proposed amid roses and "a bottle of the bubble stuff."

"That was the most incredible day of our life!!" he wrote in the post, which came after a picture of a round-cut diamond solitaire with the caption, "She said yes!!!"

"It was beautiful she didn't expect a thing, it was magical. And thanks to our good friends for helping making it all happen!!" Ashba, 40, continued.

Guns N' Roses' publicist confirmed the validity of the Instagram account to The Associated Press. She said the couple met three years ago in Rome and got engaged Wednesday.

Las Vegas police issued a statement Saturday acknowledging two civilians were granted a ride-along in a helicopter, although they didn't mention names and didn't offer many details.

"An internal affairs investigation has been initiated to determine if any department policies or regulations were violated in granting this ride-along," spokesman Bill Cassell said.

The helicopter ride comes as the department is already strapped for cash. Last week, Sheriff Doug Gillespie continued his push to increase sales tax in Clark County - which includes Las Vegas - from 8.1 to 8.25 per cent.

The tax initiative, dubbed More Cops, is aimed at plugging a $30 million budget hole, thereby saving some positions from being cut and allowing new officers to be hired.

That irony wasn't lost on one Instagram commenter, who goes by the handle mjmannino81.

"It's nice to know that Clark County (which includes Las Vegas), might raise the sales tax to pay for extra cops to give private helicopter tours for wealthy celebrities," he wrote.

#356 Re: Guns N' Roses » A few more GNR questions we'll never have the answers too. » 666 weeks ago

What I find interesting about the net and GN'R is that Axl was always someone that struck me as being progressive.  He was always trying to push the musical boundaries, never content to rest on his laurels with the same formulae that had worked previously.  Happy to bring in shit loads of new technology into the studio, go in new directions.  Rebel against a lot of the standard music industry ways of writing and releasing songs and doing business.

Yet when it came to the net and the digital age and social media etc etc.  He seems to have hated that from its infancy and never really truly engaged or embraced it.  Perhaps it stems from what I see as his desire to be in control and the net etc is something that he has very little influence over.

Just noticed this thread. I'm happy to catch up with anybody that comes down here and wants to head West to Perth.

You would enjoy Soundwave BLS!

Was he advertised as appearing with them? If he wasn't then there is no reason to apologise and no real big deal if he pulls out.

I think Rick was right when he told VR to keep working on Libertad when they thought it was just about done when first presented to him.  (I think that was how the story went)?

Bit hard to tell too with a festival show, as a result you will get a whole range of music tastes and so some people won't like what they do regardless of how good they sound.

I will be interested to read what any hardcore gnr fans who were there say.

That said, history seems to suggest that their first show of a new round of touring tends to be a bit of an abortion, Axls voice that is, the band is usually spot on from the get go.
