i expect it to go off. it'll be memorable one way or another.
i reckon it'll be a triumph or a disaster. which of course is the safe, sitting on the fence, prediction that could accompany any GnR tour...
there is a chance it could pass off without any major incidents or achievements like the '06 tour. but i reckon if canada goes well the subseqent tour has a fair chance of being a resounding success. if the canada dates go tits up... well..

yea i'm probably looking for problems that aren't really even there. 40 isn't what it used to be, as i think someone said on here recently.. and i would never expect a performance off him that was an exact replication of the studio version.
time will tell though how he's sounding. not too long now..

happy birthday, little buddy. it was a long time for everyone, & though some heap scorn upon you (& some heap scones) i still love u 'cause you've given me a lot. a lot of fun.
i reckon u'r a classic, & a[n other guns'] landmark hard rock album. 'cause of ur tunes, not 'cause of ur myth.
i reckon u'r special..

yea TWAT is amazing, and surely amazingly difficult live.
i still think it'll be in the set. maybe before or after a solo spot by one of the guitarists is the best chance for axl. to be honest, a lot of the old & nu gnr tunes oughta leave a 40+ yr old breathless so i am concerned about axls vocals, but if he's a man of his word he oughta be in peak condition.

a complete run through of the same songs for a week? just the 17/18 songs? hmm... don't expect too many setlist changes as the tour proceeds. eh, we'll see. at least there's going to be stuff we've never heard live before.
the show is looking promising. hopefully the tour gets off to a good start and those of us in the rest of the world get to experience it soon! looking forward to it..
#3719 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: GNR at download » 812 weeks ago
Depends on how long they plan to tour.
If they're thinking of a whole year off and on the road, then I don't see why not.
But if they're just doing Asia & Canada, and maybe South America, they could be done and on break by late Spring.
i always kinda figured it's be a world tour - as long as the canadian dates go ok..
the strategy of recent times (and maybe ever - i'm a relative youngster..) has been for them to hit europe to coincide with the summer festival season.
so if they do go to south america from canada, they'd maybe play a handful of US dates in late spring (or australia??) or a full US tour in autumn/fall finishing up Chimble next year..
but really, download again? after the last time? i'd prefer them to play sonisphere but that's not going to happen. i just dunno if they can hack it on at a metal fest - though maybe sonisphere is even heavier than download?? (i dont know?)

misterID wrote:Any band with such a lapse between albums isn't going to have a huge following. Especially when they released only 2 (real) original albums.
The whole theory of GNR being as big as Metallica and U2 is kind of ridiculous, when they were only that big for a few years over a decade ago.
And its hard to take anyone serious when they base all their opinions on just wanting the old lineup to reunite.
Agreed, sometimes I think we all harken back to the glory days and make Guns N' Roses out to be bigger than they ever were. Now don't get me wrong, I know they were HUGE at their peak. But that peak didn't last very long. They had about a 3-5 year run at the top of the industry. Now that's more than most bands can say, so that's nothing to sneeze at. But we all know what happened after that. It's impossible to think a band can stay at the forefront of everyone's mind when they take a decade+ off and were only big for half a decade to begin with.
not to stir shit r anything.. but i reckon Guns are a far bigger band than either Metallica or U2!
granted sales figures and, in a general sense, current popularity illustrate this isn't the case. but what Guns have done (and i'm including CD in this) will have left a more profound and lasting impact - when we're long dead n gone (or reborn..) Guns will reside in the elite pantheon of rock n roll. metallica'll & U2 will be down the hall somewhere. U2'll probably be hidden away in some dark corner for being too embarrassing..
my point is.. you dig the sound? what's the big deal about anything else?? sales mean dick. the tunes, the truth, is what we should be judging them on.
but at the same time it is interesting to know how ticket sales are doing..
