One of my favorite bands. Saw them on Babylon, would definitely go again.
Even though they got an amazing cataloge I've always considered them pretty much a spent force since the 70s. Luckily a man will never be past surprise. What a dreadful existence that would be.

Well it didn't fly so I have to agree there. Still kickass though. Love Axls voice there. Raw and powerful like nothing else out there. Far as rockers go I consider it somewhat of an uniqium.
#3817 Re: The Garden » Rise of the Fourth Reich: Germany to conquer EU? » 761 weeks ago
Patriotism only has a life of a few generations. You think we were always Norway and Germany? Nah, we've been conquered more than a 10 dollar hooker.
The last chancellor called for a US of E not long ago. It'll happen obviously. What started out as a mere trade agreement has now caught the member countries in an intricate web of economic and political submission. Most of the legislation in European nations are already EU directives. Even our country which isn't even a member swallows the german commands as if they were sliced bread.
With this economic crisis they have the perfect excuse to consolidate. Same thing for the US obv. Get ready to welcome Canada and Mexico as equals when it becomes the only viable option to continue the debt system. A 100 trillion in unfounded liabilities has to come from somewhere. So far not a single politician with an ounce of influence has proposed to change any of that. Unless of course more power to banksters is considered change.

Read it last night. I only read the GN'R parts which infortunately didn't take as long as I'd hoped. Kinda extensive with 360 pages but the vast majority involves his private life. Compared to Slash' it's completly different types of work.
All in all I'm disappointed. Not only is the GN'R stuff scarce but what we do hear is pretty much what we've always heard. I never thought I'd say it but Axl gets it worse here than in Slash'. Duff tries to play it diplomatic but I can't say that I buy it all that much. He doesn't sound resentfull but Axls name is put in the middle of most problems.
Funny part. Meeting Axl again after 13 years:
In the end I just went to the door of his hotel room. People from his entourage stopped me in the hallway. "You can't go in right now, man" said one. "He's about to get in the shower to get ready for the show tonight."
"I've seen him naked before," I said.
Another part was kinda interesting. It's about signing the name over. According to Duff this happened in 93 now (?). An assistant of Axl came down and said they had to sign it over because anyday he or Slash could be dead and all the legal bullshit following that wouldn't be good for anyone. The assistant also made veiled threat of Axl not taking the stage. So I guess that solved the issue of somebody lying about that.

Slash fits the song better. Buckethead does it so unique though, and he still manages to hit all the important bends. In a vacuum they're just as good.

After all, GN'R do have a 1 in 7 cancellation rate.
