hey.....look on the bright side, we have Heartbreak Hotel on ITUNES.

Always funny to see us go from heaven to hell in two posts when there's rumors.

Possible, but the stacks are against us to say the least.
#4443 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Unheard GNR song on Rockband 2 » 931 weeks ago
who does these things?
who gos out of their way to give us hope?
just so we can be burned
Since it is an unheard and 'confirmed' title I'm guessing there were plans to include it, but Axl probably backed out once again and the famous plan b gets 'dusted' off (who am I kidding, plan b is on speed dial of course).

Have you considered people were there, but didn't want to talk to you?

Better - The most hit potential so far. It is also a little irritating in that it doesn't exploit its full potential. Several obvious hooks are basically missed, and that's kinda embarrassing after all these years. Axl got 3 guitar players, but that's something you gotta know because you definitely can't hear it. A couple of spots have improved though.
There Was A Time - Another 'great' tune. Cool intro, fine vocal melody and a blistering end solo and wail. Still, what the fuck? I'm hearing a great song being deliberately tinkered to death. A puzzle loose in the seams. Is it just me that's hearing more recent vocals on this one? Some change in the chorus guitar as well.
Unknown song - I've heard this one about 10 times so...it's pretty safe to say that it plain sucks. The first part of it is almost embarrassing. No, who am I kidding, it is embarrassing. The lyrics are pure cheese and Axl's sounding like one of those 90s prog artists with those womenish falsettos. Total cliche. The only good thing about this song is some of the little guitar work and the outro, which rocks. Still, I'll never ever play this to any of my friends that like gn'r. I don't have the conscience.
If The World - Finally a song as it should be. Not great by all means, but very good, very clean, very finished. Nice to have as an interlude on the album, on any album really. The whole band shines here.
IRS - One of the few songs that has improved for each leak. I've always liked this song. Not single material, but a good rockin' song. Great vocals and solos all around.
Madagascar - Great in its own right. Not the epic I thought it would be, but a lot of charm still. Flawless in structure and production, Axl sounds great.
The Blues - Flawless. Could become a big hit. The girls are gonna love this one, young and old. Best vocal display by Axl so far.
CD - Another great tune, and a great rocker. Should be the opener on the album and on tour. A modern classic in gn'r terms. The intro is simply massive.
Rhiayd - As I suspected the studio version of this song would kick ass. Different than I thought, but all in all very cool. Suffers a bit from the Better/Twat syndrome. Opportunities are wasted.
Individually the songs all have good qualities, except for crapfest named 2 many of them could justly be deemed 'very good', and one or two even great. But to have all of these holes of missed opportunities makes you wonder what these 10 or so years have been spent doing. The most obvious being, where's the guitar? Where's that crunching, hard hitting guns n roses guitar? Sure, at times, but not nearly often enough for a comeback album from a band once labeled most dangerous in the world. Ballads are good and all, but it should be like 2 or 3 of them to every 10 hard song, not the other way around. It can still be salvaged if the remaining unleaked stuff is mint, but at the present we're looking at a slightly too mellow of an album with rough edges.

To make a more even fight, I'll go for Rock Am Ring '06.

Better has an impressive count. It goes to show that people are in fact interested when it's available. If CD got a couple more catchy tunes like that it could very well become a 'success', in that it would avoid becoming a total laughing stock. You've seen what Bono's said of his club experiments, people are under the right circumstances very inclined to embracing a rewamped gn'r, if promoted properly and all that crap that people fuck up.
Unless we're in 2013 of course, and still no album. When nobody over 31 are allowed to be on tv, and nobody remembers radio. We know that could very well happen too, with this big pink elephant.
So...we're back to where we were, playing the waiting game(s).
Yeah, close the boards when it happens. And I don't just mean for new members, close it all. Shut it down. Cause if we're still hanging here when CD arrives...it would just be patethic really.
Which goes on to prove you shouldn't blame a Uno for not being a Ferrari, even though they're both under Fiat.
Very neat.

I remember reading an article in 2001 about the then mostly unheard of band, At The Drive-In. Something struck me about the personalities in the band, so I downloaded it from Napster the same evening.
I had just started my first independent search for music in that period, so I embraced a lot of cool bands. This album however hit me like lightning from clear sky. "What the fuck?", I thought to myself "this record's been out for months already, why is nobody talking about it?".
Shortly after they broke up, with the core of the band eventually forming The Mars Volta and going on to have great success in their own right. That lead to this record being pushed a bit on the sideline. Now however this modern classic is about to claim its proper place in the history of rock. I wouldn't exactly call it a buzz, but the more people I meet, the more remember these tunes. "Mars Volta? Yeah they're cool, but ATDI is better."
The best way to describe it would be a 45 minutes long hard pounding orgasm. The riffs are hard, but loose. Vocals are all over the place, yet restrained. It's bone hard rock, but still melodic. In short it's everything a rock album can and should be, and it fits for every occasion. Be it partying, pot smoking, background or chilling out with headphones. And after 7 years it still holds up like it was new.
Highly recommended.

I'm pissed. I went to get an Alberta driver's license today and they took my old NL driver's license... the problem is that they mail the Alberta license to you, so now I have to wait 2 weeks before I can do anything (including driving) that requires a photo ID. how stupid! I don't understand why they have to take it... I mean, what the hell am I supposed to do? I told her she had no right to take it and I needed it back and she said it was within her rights or some bullshit.
Might have something to do with them being different provinces.
Anyway, that's just silly. If you really need it I say fuck it, if you're licensed to drive a car, you're licensed to drive a car. I'd say you got a pretty strong case if you should get in trouble.
But of course, go and do what D said first.
