Morning guys! Just got up, its 05:30 in the morning here in Norway!
So the mix is crappy for everyone else? I'm basicly getting vocals and guitar and some really low drums waaaay in the back!

Since some of are giving your opinions on who should be inducted, my question is; do the persons in the band get inducted?
Did a quick browse on their site and it seems that whenever a band is inducted, it's the band-name that gets inducted. Doesen't seem like RRHOF gives two shits if you're an important member of that band or not.
I tried to find a portion of the site that lists some kind of rule on which member gets inducted or not. I only found this:
"To be eligible for induction as an artist (as a performer, composer, or musician) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the artist must have released a record, in the generally accepted sense of that phrase, at least 25 years prior to the year of induction; and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence.
We shall consider factors such as an artist's musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification of induction."
Seems to me that if you are or have recorded and released material with the inducted band, consider yourself inducted!
If GNR gets in, damn that list is gonna be long!

If this is what we get when GNR hits the stage, I'm totally cool with it! And we might even be able to download a HD-rip from TV shortly after! Bring it on!
For me, it's kinda cool that 10 years after Axl debuted the new era of GNR, they are headlining these massive festivals all over the world! Not to mention the millions of fans seeing them on their own tours during the past decade!
Would be nice to get some official update on the next album. I know I'm ready for it!

Whether Axl shows up or not, or who's there and who's not. It doesen't really matter THAT much. I mean, it may mean something to certain fans on the boards (for various reasons). But as a worldwide news-event or as a consern for casual rockfans to tip their opinion on WHATEVER in either direction...naaah...not so much!
I bet the majority of casual Metallica-fans couldn't tell you what went down a couple of years ago when Metallica was inducted into RRHOF.
I consider myself a person who pays above avarage attention to what goes on in the world of music. I could only name two acts in the RRHOF and that's Elton John and Metallica.

GNR's track record of late starts are well documented. In most cases, local media are even adressing the fact that you will most likely be in for a long wait.
I think that what is really bothering you is simply the fact that Guns N' Roses is about to start rolling again and it's not the Guns N' Roses you want. And this fact is shitting all over your little pipedream. So your disappointment needs an outlet. Which is the case with a few others on this board.
In some sad way I hoep this tour gets cancelled and falls apart just so Ican see you guys throw your positive spin on it. Obvioulsy I'm being sarcastic but seriously.

I think most of us "nutswingers" in the "online bubble" are well aware of the fact that this tour could possibly go tits up over the smallest event. Or that every show will likely NOT be sold out.
But focusing on it or hoping for it, even in the slightest, is not healthy!

Wow! Did you just say that? You think people showing up on time and then waiting 3+ hours maybe four or five for Axl to come on stage is LOOKING for something to be upset about. You think when his set gets cut short because he won't take the stage when he's supposed to is about fans looking for something to complain about? I bought the ticket you fool, he better well show up when it's convenient for me. When the start time on a ticket says 7:00pm and the asshole doesn't take the stage untill midnight that's not convenient for anyone. In fact it's flat out disrespectful towards all his fans. No wonder the venues they play are half empty and even less so by the end of the set.
There's a lot of factors that go into it. Like I mentioned the wait time is one, the venues decision to close concessions before Gn'R even hit the stage is another. The drive time home afterwards(I live two hours away so a show ending after 1:00 am is a pain in the fucking ass).
It's not looking for things to complain about. It's simply recognizing what an F-ing joke he is for doing what he does and no it's not warrented because there are so many better live bands today with much better frontmen because as much as everyone on a GUns N' Roses site likes to preach how Axl blows everyone away he doesn't anymore. Inconsistent vocals, geriatric dance moves, shitty sound mixes, late starts, half assed efforts if something is bothering him.
Is Axl good? yes. Do his performances justify the antics in 2011? Hell No!

You dont' have to be a fucking pro to know that a sold out 10 000 seat venue is better than 10 000 seats sold in a 20 000 seat venue. Figure it out.
Don't think anybody disagree with that scenario. Has that happened or is that your doom n' gloom assumption already?
the usual suspects also think the 2002 and 2006 tours were a success. Now that is f-ing laughable.
I bet all the promotors in the US are aware of those tours and have taken it into consideration. You figure it out!

The "usual whiners" can sit back and act as armchair concert-promoters all they want. But the real pro's that are actually booking GNR to these venues, knows what they're doing.
Even if all the shows are a few hundred or thousand tickets short, the tour will prolly still make money for everyone involved. In their eyes, a success! And they will prolly book GNR in the future.
I have no clue. Just my guess!
In the eyes of the "usual whiners": THERE WERE THOUSANDS OF EMPTY SEATS!!! THE TOUR IS A FAILURE!! GNR ARE DEAD IN THE US!!!
I am not 100% sure the tour will be a blockbuster-sellout-success. But I am pretty sure certain people will call it a failure no matter what happens.
Hopefully the tour gets of to a good start, positive reviews in the press, etc etc. Which hopefully will get asses in seats for the rest of the tour!
