I seem to be the only asshole in the universe underwhelmed by RDR2 trailer.
Honour system, friends, horse bonding are all throwbacks. Hunting for christs sake. Looks like a massive missed opporunity. I dont give a shit about playing cards or going hunting/fishing in a videogame. Jesus christ.
Its like everything Rockstar North dismissed as horseshit was picked up by San Diego and repackaged. I was hoping for something NEW instead all theyve offered so far is tripe holdovers from last gen. Inspired off of metrics from dullards.
Hope to fuck im wrong but this looks like a giant turd.

Happy accident of one of the masterstrokes that was setting it in NJ instead of NY ^
Nj always painted as step child/poor relation. Phil leotardo plot fruition of that.

There is no new music.
No Axl/DC means ‘classic’ GnR tour/semi retirement for immediate future. Axl’s a busted flush artistically.
Hope springs eternal tho.
Think Dylan’s I Cant Wait would be a good addition to covers repertoire.
Maybe great american songbook route is where he oughta go. Just shut up & sing.. which ironically enough is what he’s been doing the past 20years..

Exactly. I’ve not listened to any of this shit n I have zero inclination to. Even when I do have the precious time I’ve more pressing things to spend it on than this (e.g. posting on here!)
I’ll listen to it someday, maybe.

The book also discusses the nature of the societal machine and many other topics that I could see could resonate with Axl.
It'd spoil the trick and be generally awkward but I'd love to talk to Axl and learn what really animated these songs.
Such an interesting cat.
Balls.
A coked fuelled rock star disappeared up his own arsehole, that’s what “animated” the songs.

A track he eventually had to release because his GnR ran out of material, but something unfinished & unworthy of the GnR name.

I don't really understand why people think This I Love is garbage but enjoy Breakdown, NR, or Estranged.
They're all piano ballads with emotional guitar.
This I Love is a beautiful song.
People claim to be GnR fans then shit on TiL are morons and arent real GnR fans. The guy is baring his soul & they take a dump on it calling it garbage. Theyre patheic. It’s brilliant. It’s not perfect but it is brilliant.
Finck was one of his worst decisions.

I'm skipping Download this year – I can't be bothered trekking up to a field in the middle of fucking nowhere to see Axl trot out the same setlist to an audience of casual festival goers.
That said, I bet he plays fucking TWAT this time.
If he plays while fucking twat, that'd certainly be a show to see.
FYI, that setlist "leak" was confirmed to be an old one from the Forum show. So, it's still somewhat of a mystery which new cover they'll bust out this leg.
They did Twat at Slane and it was fucking awful.

Fuck the Chinese era. It is fucking shit. You guys act like it is Led Zeppelin IV or some shit. It is a shit album. Move on.
CD is a great album.
Bar Catcher. It is shit.
Better/The Blues/If the World/Twat is proof enough. There was method in his madness. Catcher was shite tho.

Working for Axl in the CD era was bit like the Trump White House.
Harsh.
All men betray, all lose heart.
I see the analogy only so far in that Axl actually, finally, produced many great moments. Madagascar, Sorry, Twat etc. The production of the songs itself a testament to his vision. He did a great job. Yea he could’ve done more but it’s not all negative, y’know?
