In the CD era it was much the same thing, but then you knew Axl was trying to put something together. He had ambition.

Now he just wants to be a wedding singer.

David's wife sent out this nice little tweet and Gilmour later replied that he agreed with every word:

Roger Waters hit back with this:

Waters’s problem with the rest of Floyd, he says, was that they “can’t write”. “Well, Nick never pretended. But Gilmour and Rick [Wright, the keyboardist]? They can’t write songs, they’ve nothing to say. They are not artists!” He shouts the last two words. “They have no ideas, not a single one between them. They never have had, and that drives them crazy.”

Now Waters is planning to release a rival version of Pink Floyd’s most famous record, without Pink Floyd’s permission. I’m no copyright expert, but might there be some obstacles to that? Waters smiles: “I have no idea.”

Waters is adamant that Dark Side is his to muck about with however he sees fit. “I wrote The Dark Side of the Moon. Let’s get rid of all this ‘we’ c--p! Of course we were a band, there were four of us, we all contributed – but it’s my project and I wrote it. So… blah!”

‘You play the guitar and sing and do as you’re bloody well told’

#493 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash selling his house » 170 weeks ago

Yeah I would not be surprised, these rockers generally have some weird homes.

With Axl I guess you get that "living on top of Malibu" vibe where that in itself is sort of grand and impressive. Slash looks like he just lives on some street, in a nice home yes, but there is nothing about the surroundings that scream global rock star. Then you get inside and it looks like your grandmas house. His gym is literally depressing, like how you would set it up if you were working a dead end job.

I take a look at my own home and I think to myself, okay I'm not rich like Slash is but at least I have my own style.

#495 Re: Guns N' Roses » What song do you hope are going to be the four song slash talked about » 170 weeks ago

I hope there is another Oh My God because the one we got is a mess. The verses are fantastic, about as good as anything GN'R ever did, and Axl sounds killer. Then comes the chorus and you go wtf? Just doesn't fit with the overall vibe of the song.

Damn, who needs guitar?

I was never much into classical music. Like most of our age I suppose. And to be honest I don't think this is representative of what classical music is either. This work to my estimation should not exist. Beethoven made 8 symphonies before this and the ninth pisses on all of them. It's the equivalent of GN'R making Def Leppard type records all their career, then in their mid 50s they suddenly release Appetite.

There's no other classical artist that could have inspired Beethoven to do this either. It's just him and this one work. Bach, Mozart, they never reached these heights. Not even close. I listen to this and it is peak music. From another world. Before if you asked me to name the best music ever made I would be lost in a sea of possible choices. No more. God himself was on drugs when he inspired Ludwig to compose this. And he was deaf too? It's almost supernatural.

This is much better quality but I couldn't get it to preview:

#497 Re: Guns N' Roses » New Slash interview - some stuff about TSI » 171 weeks ago

It was a good era. They sounded great on that record.

The insleeve picture on TSI always reminded me of the end of the band. You get that feeling. Now I'm thinking it signifies the end of an era. No more rock n roll. What other classic rock type records came out after 93? That were any good?

Racism IS rampant in society, but it's the opposite of what people think. White people need to realize they are in the cross hairs, watch their surroundings and keep clear of these haters.
