#492 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 245 weeks ago

Two other movies of the 90s:

Titanic (I hate this but it deserves to be considered)
Unforgiven ( again a personal choice here)

ID, beat me to Usual Suspects and Heat.

Add in the risk Belichick takes of Newton testing positive and forcing all the QBs out of the game, and he runs a real chance of forfeiting a game.  I wonder how much more we'll see of this tomorrow morning.

This doomsday scenario can easily be avoided by one qb basically working out/learning the gameplan while away from the other qb's.  He can learn it virtually and practice when the other 2 guys aren't there.

The Titans did this last year and I bet the Broncos wish they did.

What's most astonishing about the Cam Newton thing is that just a few years ago he was the league MVP and in the super bowl, right?

I'd really like to know more about why Carolina just gave up on him....and my how the mighty have fallen.

Too many injuries and he's a shell of the MVP guy. He was making a lot of money in CAR and the money didn't warrant the production.

As for the Pats release, no one should be surprised.  He sucked last year and was unvaccinated (yes that matters).  And they drafted a qb in the first round this year.

It's different from other teams with unvaccinated qb's.  I mean IND isn't dropping Wentz and MIN isn't going to dump Cousins.  Their backups just aren't good enough to warrant such a decision.

I just set the fantasy draft (9/7 at 9:30pm) so if you were in the league last year check the league page and/or email. Sorry for the lateness but life is crazy. If anyone wants in or out let me know.

Thanks.  I'll play again this year.  I was wondering whether or not you had set this up again.

I don't remember which magazine...too many years and drugs ago... maybe RS or RIP....Axl talked about how devastating Izzy's departure was. He couldn't forgive him for it.

He knew how vital Izzy was. Izzy was his Keith Richards. Nothing was ever the same after he left. It still isn't and we're coming up on the 30th anniversary of his departure.

Which is one of the reasons why he (Axl) has only released one album in 30 years.  He was the glue to the band.

I've always thought that corona and the effects on the economy would sink him more than the Afghanistan stuff.  Because at some point the Afghanistan stuff will fade away but the pandemic?  That will stay for a while.  Weird thing is he has less control over the pandemic stuff than Afghanistan.

Until Christmas?? Man, that's awful. We're arguing about masks right now. If folks don't want to get vaccinations, okay, but they're clogging up hospitals.

This is an important.  It doesn't matter if you live in a red or blue state, the health care system is getting swamped and can't handle the patient overload from the unvaccinated assholes.  I mean these people are on ventilators and shit and sucking up resources because they DIDN'T get a vaccine.

Meanwhile, if I need to get some procedure done at the hospital I have to wait and suffer because I chose to do the right thing.  Makes no sense.

As somebody said, the end of an era. This decade is going to see a lot of big names bowing out and especially classic rock bands.

The next 5-10 years are going to be brutal.

Jagger

Bob Dylan
Willie Nelson
Paul McCartney
Ringo Starr
Rod Stewart
Elton John

Actors like Pacino, Deniro, Eastwood, etc.

We'll also see a handful from the later generation die as well.

The 20th century is being wrapped up.

Yup.  Probably add Gene Hackman in there (not on the other guys level but he's 92).   These guys die off and there's no one adequate to replace them.    If you were born in the mid late 70s-early 80s, you're going to see a lot of these people you grew up with die.

College football forum I visit has a new thread on this song today. The response is 100% negative. These guys are casual GN’R fans who dig the classic sound. This really seems like we got to see how the world would react in 1991 if My World was released as a single.

Not really surprised at all with this response.  This (Absurd) is not a song that casuals will dig.  I want to hear the interview and see why this song was released first.
