I don't quite get why people wouldn't want shots.
No disrespect intended to anyone.
To me we live in a wondrous age where rather than just having to accept diseases and pandemics like they would have in the olden days we can actively limit them and fight against them and become immune to them.
I will take a yearly shot, or a weekly shot if it keeps me from ending up in hospital.
I think we've forgotten how great it is that we can invent this stuff.

This is good news for State of Grace and Perhaps which I think are great fucking songs.
I also think Eye on You has great verse melody even if Axl went a bit far with the daddy mac stuff.
Really fun hearing slash on Absurd...i've been wanting this since I heard the bumble demo....I feel really positive things are looking a bit different for once!

Well fuck me.....I like it.
I always liked these lyrics how they're kinda abusively poetic...like "Syphilic Priestess
Baby, I know who you are, Parasitic demon, Sucking acid through your heart" or whatever it is...there's such a way with words there.
Bring out the studio version please - I'll take it!! I like it!

I like the silkworms lyrics...they're full of bile but it has that way with words that retro Axl anger does....although I think the Ron version had one of the more harsh lines toned down from memory which is a shame lol

I've always thought that the guitar version of silkworms has promise. I can imagine that riff except played by slash with that dirty rock groove he has and rather than being techno coming out something more like "whole lotta love".
I know the old version is very non GNR, but under all that synth it's a rocker at heart. Angry Axl lyrics, strong bass vibe, let slash add a few Zep guitars and I've always thought silkworms could move from a hated song to the surprise rocker of the album.

The sound problems....
The thing is...this is one of the biggest acts in the world, on one of the largest tours of all time, and in the previous legs has just made some of the most money EVER made touring....
So i mean, yeah we've seen them have audio problems, it's not only performance, but if that it what is happening OVER AND OVER...then at some point it falls back on GNR for hiring people who are unable to act competently.
Maybe they shouldn't always hire friends of friends, maybe hire people who are pros. If they are hiring pros - maybe they could get better pros if they didn't short change people and paid their debts.
You just made hundreds of millions of dollars. You can afford to pay for professionals. Maybe audio quality is not the place to skimp when your entire act is a musical performance.
There is literally no reason why one of the biggest acts in the world should have a failing audio set up on repeated occasions...it simply doesn't happen if you follow other major acts. If it's broken...then fix it already.

They performed a new 30 year old B side on the last tour...
Really this says it all doesn't it!
Especially cos that single coming out was a big deal, the band seemed to embrace it, the classic rock media gave it the token coverage...then we all went back to sleep lol.
I agree about the shorter sets though. I guess they see the long set as value for money. But personally I would take a mini 30-45 mins of Axl screaming his balls off any day of the week over 4+ hours of the band bluffing when the heart/health just isn't there that show.
Hopefully one day we get the album. Hell the demo vocals on there with Slash and Duff added would make a great listen. Stuff like "perhaps" is actually good. I'll hang on for those days.
It's a shame the pay day isn't in recorded music....as if it's dollars driving these tours they will keep doing this until they die.

If Hardschool was on the launch pad, they would've played it and it wouldn't be on the back burner as alternate.
I expect they might do it casually in a couple more shows when Axl happens to have a good night.
Like they do with songs like TWAT.....they come out to play occasionally when the stars are in alignment.
So like they'll do it. If it goes well they'll do it a few times ala "Shadow of Your Love" - if it was hard on Axl they'll do it only in a blue moon ala TWAT....
Doesn't seem like we can expect a single/album launch any time soon from this though.
It looks like this is another NITL leg with just a few new songs swapped out to keep them happy.
I don't mean to be negative...but there's times when it looks like their plan is just to get as much money from us as possible before health/voice issues cause them to call it a career....I want to think this all leads to the lost albums etc....but there's a point where you have to wonder.

The next chapter huh?
Yeah..turns out that's Dead Horse and Duff doing a different solo song
I'm trying to find the best case....so like maybe this year and next are kinda a 2 year warm up and then they release an album and re-brand around that.
There's a point where I have to give up I guess.

I have a theory, and it's a big stretch, that Axl still wants to do his magnum opus trilogy that ultimately began in 95, and he wants it to include redone songs from CD.
It would actually explain a lot! As you said it kinda makes sense of band actions all the way from the lackluster 2008 release onwards.
I would love it if it happened. In a way I feel like it could in that psychologically if he's going to release anything why not release lots....the roadblock for one song is probably the same for a tripple album or something.
So yeah I hope it happens...but then again it's GNR...they might just play seeker another 20 years lol
