That's pretty funny. Another gaffe that will shoot himself in the foot. Can't wait for the excuse like Fundamentals=American Workforce.
Haha, check out the Dow go down by the end of it

"Obama: used to be not so careful about picking people to meet with;
The problem with that even, is that alot of politicians (both Democrat AND Republican) in Chicago sat on those boards. Also, I heard even Walter Annenberg of the Annenberg Foundation, & I think someone said like a former Reagan advisor or staff member. That's the problem with guilt by association.

^^ It is, and I thought of it only after I typed the question out. But figured I'd leave it to make a point about how it doesn't matter that much if the first wives are or are not effective.
Anyway I thought last night was pretty much another loss for McCain/Palin. I turned on Fox News afterwards to see their viewpoint & Sean Hannity(i think) was alre3ady back to talking about Obama palling around with terrorists. Guess he didn't have much good to say about McCain.

It's over, and I don't think the Electoral College will be close. At all. The third debate is just going to be a formality. I think Obama will even win some bizarre states, like Indiana, WV or Georgia.
James Carville pretty much summed it up: Absent any unforeseen circumstances... Call the dogs in, wet the fire and leave the house. The hunts over.

Randall you bring up some good points. First off, the "Could Obama take alot of the blame" aspect. First off, it's been said whoever won (McCain, Obama Hillary etc) may likely be a 1 term President. Possible, but on the other hand if the war ends & Economy picks up in 2-3 years whoever it is or could have been would likely get reelected anyway. But, if it gets worse will Obama get blamed for it. Personally, although he may lose a re-election bid, I think Bush will go down in history as the one being blamed for the 00's mess, not Obama. Unless he does alot stupid, then he may get blamed for basically making it worse, but he's a smart guy so I don't think he's make many overtly stupid decisions. People don't blame FDR for the Great Depression (note: I'm not comparing Barack to FDR, just making a statement), they moreso credit him for helping the nation get thru it. On the other hand, Jimmy Carter went down as a somewhat bad President even though some things were somewhat inherited & part of the times (oil, hostage crisis, inflation etc). Only time will tell. While I think you're exagerrating about "Nazi" type facists overruling our country, I think something more like a "prohibition" type rule could follow. I agree racists would blame the country for electing a "black President" who is to blame for everything... but I think the end result would be more like electing some crazy, right winged, Southern evangelical appealing Christian right wackjob to appeal to Republcans. Almost like a revenge-vote. Then, abortion is outlawed, an anti-foreigner reign takes control possibly violence against immigrants (Mexicans) maybe something else etc. I don't think it will become like the KKK being like Nazi soldiers, but I do think it's possible the wrong people get elected from the other end of the spectrum. Interesting thoughts, Possible, slightly, but not probable. But, on the other hand, it's possible the economy picks up in 2010, the war ceases & Iraq gov't takes over in 2010, the US frees up tons of money from spending & it's budget & 2011 is a great year for us. The Dow could hit 15,000 or 20,000. Then there's no way Obama isn't a 2-term President & the GOP really then needs to rethink it's agenda. Anythings possible.
James, first off, it's pretty preposterous to think Oprah, Jesse, AND Sharpton are ALL going to be in Obamas' cabinet. Personally, I'd say none of them will be. I know one of them doesn't like Barack, I think it's Jesse. And I think Obama doesn't like Sharpton very much. Plus, they're in it for the corporate money, not the power, I don't think they care if they are "in" politics or not, especially Sharpton. Oprahs possible, but it would likely be a domestic possition, more like a novelty (ie. Secretary of Education or Child enrichment), but his wife would likely take a role like that, as will Jill Biden. Before you say anything smart about them, did Laura Bush really do anything for this country??? and can anyone here name Dick Cheney's wifes' name?
Also, I think Hillary may be offered something like the Secretary of State role, if she wants it. She may turn down all cabinet positions in case she wants to run in 2012... just in case.
As for the original topic of the thread, I do think it may be McCains last chance to get some momentum. After this, people are pretty set in their ways.

I think your mixing up a few things Mitch. While this is the "Newswire" section, it's also, and used to be the Political section. (Probably would have been better had it remained that way but after Nov 4th it won't matter as much anyway) So we are all entitled to post pretty much whatever News or Political topics we want here. As for James being a mod, that doesn't bother me that he's throwing out his own agenda. James has hardly if ever used his mod status here to override anyone else's opinion. Does he post alot in here, yes. But I view it no differently than if he posted alot in a MIA or GNR thread or if Bono started a U2 thread & posted alot. You gotta look at it as 2 different people, James the poster, and James the moderator. Just because he posts alot of pro-McCain/anti-Obama threads, that doesn't mean it's James the moderator slanting this board or section at all. Just James the poster, two different people.

I heard last night the Giants are the quietest Super Bowl winning 4-0 team. Which seems true, whenever the 49ers of the 80s, Cowboys of the 90's or Pats' of 00's went 4-0 it was "how great are they" talk... I'm not comparing the current Giants teams to those dynasties, but they have gotten off to a solid start. Still, it's gonna be tough to win this division.
Faldor I heard the Dolphins did 12 direct snaps to the RB in their game. I guess that play keeps working:)

The Dow Jones drops down to January 1999 levels, and McCain/Palin have nothing going for them but to talk about stupid shit. Congratulations Obama/Biden, you just locked up the Presidency. Americans vote with their pocketbook, and raising taxes for everyday average Americans is just moronic right about now. Hmmmmm, let me think, one guys going to raise my taxes, and the other guy is going to lower them.. Who should I vote for??
America's next Vice President: Joe Biden. Awesome!!
America's next President: Barack Obama. Awesome!! It's their time.
