Skwerl has spoken about his release on www.antiquiet.com he says he was arrested at gunpoint.  Being one that fully believes that GNR supported this and were behind this arrest.  I think this is very excessive for the FBI to arrest this guy at gunpoint or even arresting him.  Don't they have terrorists to catch?  Anyways after reading this I find myself NOT wanting to buy this album anymore because of this.  What about you guys?  Will you buy CD anyways?

Uhhh yes, I will buy CD.
Enforcing federal law = FBI.

Sheesh.
The band didn't have anything to do with gunpoint or federal agents.
It's just a stupid band.

Get over yourself!

That's funny how the DJ says Axl should go on TV and at the same time says Axl should come out into the real world.

I think we all have a distored view of what the real world is - cause we experience it everyday, and it's hard for us to imagine Axl brushing his teeth, sleeping in, grabing Taco Bell, and procrastinating his ass off because of something was bothering him.

If this goes to trial, Bumblefoot will be getting a subpoena. No doubt there. The copyright infringement claim of "distribution of a work being prepared for commercial distribution" goes against everything he has said since the day he joined the band. He always tells the world, "those songs are old. that ones a fan edit,etc.". Gonna be hard for an infringement case to be made on unreleased material when we have a band member saying the songs weren't intended for release. Dizzy might get a surprise as well. Claimed the Better on the HD ad was a demo and not worthy of release. Judge might like to hear the HD ad and compare it to the Skwerl leak.

I don't understand this at all.
They were being prepared - these leaks were at various stages of completion - even if they're from 2006, they're from a project that's "being prepared for commercial distribution". Those particular recordings weren't intended for release - obviously, the blance and MP3s all sound like shit because some people can't make a MP3 if their life depended on it, and the mixing levels burried Axl at some points. It doesn't matter - it's still "being prepared".The opposite of being prepared is if someone stole Axl's sex tape he made. THAT's not being prepared for commercial distribution, but he does have a copyright on it since he madeit.

The judge isn't going to ask to hear  Harley ad or any other kind of nonesese or print out forum posts.

Consider:

1. The label may be doing this. It's their property, technically.
1. A - IP holders HAVE TO go after things like this or it creates for them more problems - your IP weakens if you doin't enforce it.
2. This may be to stop more leakers.
3. This may not go anywhere - it might be as much of a threat as it is a publicity thing.
4. Oh come on - you're going to download the CD now because the label is trying to stop pirating and it might be coming out at Best Buy or Wal-Mart?
Come on folks.

there is a reason rolling stone has had several GNR scoops this year . . . THEY GET THEM DIRECTLY FROM AZOFF. the best buy/walmart story was given to billboard by azoff to punish rolling stone for refusing to pull their story about shackler's revenge leaking.

while everyone questioned the legitimacy of the 8/19 report on mistersaintlaurent.com, i got the majority of the information initially from a rolling stone reporter who was upset that azoff had so much influence over how the magazine covered the band.

and this, my friends, is what truth sounds like.
i mean - I'm not THERE - but this is how things go. RS and Billboard are in the entertainment business.

Except -
the Nov date came from MSL, and he was taking to reporters, supposedly, and people who had been given hush orders. So there could be 'reports' that aren't desperate internet forum scoops.

maybe.

The sound is DTS-HD which is uncompressed. How would that be lower quality then CD?

The source - IE: the soundtrack of the film - is given to us in an uncompressed format. But it still came from a film soundtrack which may not have been mastered or EQed with 'Hi-Fi' quality in mind. Sure it sounds loud and good in a movie theatre, but it may not sound right just because the SOURCE was meant to be one thing. It may even have different mixing levels - who knows. I've heard end credits sound totally different than what's on the soundtrack album.

The CD was mastered, EQed, and mixed for optimal stereo Hi-Fi sound. With lots of attention.

Not nessesarily true for end credits.

I mean it might sound great, it might sound different, but it's not going to be better than what's on the CD which is the format the song was mixed and mastered for.

#548 Re: Guns N' Roses » End Of Days/OMG Question » 877 weeks ago

well - it WILL be compressed, sound-wise.
they're fitting it into a movie soundtrack - and even though THATS been transfered losslessly - it's still not as good of quality as the compact disc End of Days album.
