Yeah, it's pretty obvious she just doesn't grasp the issues. Maybe it's a problem with her just not expressing it correctly, but I don't think so. I just think she has no concept of some national issues, and even with the camp cramming sessions on her, they know she isn't getting it at all.
Her fake confidence offends me. I read somewhere about how she says "She's ready to be VP on January 20th" with no hesitation, in such a way you can picture her being told she will become a nuerosurgeon & would respond "I'm ready to do brain surgery on January 20th. I'm ready." Would you honestly trust a loved one with her?
While it ignited the base, it's not attracting independents, and certainly not getting any Democratic votes. It was a long shot, but I can't imagine it will work. Unless McCain somehow gets something going into his favor (A great debate, something in this economic bailout). As for Palin, while she could have had a future in national politics, I think in 4 years people will look back & just laugh. Kinda like Howard Dean & his "Byyaaaaahhhhhh" speech. After 4 years, people only remember you for one thing, her thing will be "You can see Russia from Alaska". It must be tough to turn down the chance to be VP, but someone should have told McCain she's not ready. Although without letting her off the hook she should have known also. Which also offends me that she didn't know that. If I was offered a job with the Eagles, I'd love to get it. If I was offered the Offensive Coordinator position, sadly, I'd have to turn it down.

I just watched the Katie Couric inerview tonight. Wow!! That's all I can say. Wow!!
"Those are the bad guys." Bad guys?? What is this, 4th grade?!
"And trade.. we've got to see trade as opportunity not as a uhm competitive... scary thing." Scary??
I now know why McCain wanted to cancel next weeks VP debate. This is going to be embarassing. Here's more:

None the less, you didn't argue with the facts as to why we're in this crisis.
You mean the Gramm Leach Wiley Act?? Named after Phil Gramm, McCains Senior Economic Advisor??
This isn't just about giving loans to poor people RF. It's not that simple. It's about the Fed drastically reducing Prime interest rate during the first Bush recession in an effort to stimulate the economy. Since stocks were down, the thought was lower interest rates to boost home buying. Coorporations, who had little regulation, were dishing out mortgages left & right. This drove the home prices to rise. Coorporations, whose CEO's only look at quarterly reports & stock prices, milked it, with little to no foresight into down the line. As long as their stock was up, they were doing a good job. Then, it came back to bite them, as the prices reached ridiculous prices, it soon began to sink. People who bought $300k houses were now valued at $250K. If they were in a risky ARM mortgage, which could rise after 3-5 years, they could not afford the "new" monthly payment. With no option to sell, as they'd lose the $50K, their only option was to walk away & no longer pay. I'm not solely blaming Republicans on this but it is due to their overall beliefs & ideas of less regulation.
And if you think these are the dumb poor people, think again. What areas were hit worst by the housing bust?? Southern California, Vegas, Phoenix & Florida. With their $500K- $1million houses & all. THAT is where this problem lies. I live in Philadelphia, foreclosure isn't a big problem here because they never rose out of control. I guess the rich don't want to live in my city but whatever.

An economic relief agreement may already be in place and an announcement could come out this afternoon.

He wasn't "exonerated" he was instructed that he "exercised poor judgement".
Someone who used "poor judgement" is now trying to rescue this country from an Economic Crisis?! It's valid.

Yeah, interesting that he replaced McCain with Olberman?! Can't imagine that was a shot at him.
Somethings fishy that's for sure.. What does cancelling the VP debate have to do with any of this. If anything, couldn't they just have the VP debate next Friday, & the Presidential next Saturday. Or have them both on the same night, VP from 8-9 & Pres from 9:30-11. I think it's a ploy to get Palin into not going into a debate w/Biden. The whole "Have the VP debate at a later date" was so vague & blatant. Come mid-October they'd be saying "We don't have any time for that.. We're busy on the campaign trail".

Yeah, just an even, arbitray date. I guess you're right though, FDR was from 32-45 or so, so since 1930 is about the same thing. Just trying to say in modern history. But yeah, Bush has been pretty fucking bad.
