Anyone care to make bets on when you have something positive to say?
Sorry buzzsaw, but this really doesn't seem like the right time.
Unfortunatley though, you HAVE been right SO FAR with your negative predictions. Hopefully that streak ends soon and you'll be won over once and for all. Okay, I'm pushing it now.
I've had plenty of positive things to say - nobody cares to discuss those, only the "negative"/realistic things I say seem to be worthy of a response. The positive things have been right for the most part too. Reality sucks sometimes - that doesn't mean we should pretend it isn't real.
History says everything Axl says is calculated, cautious, vague, and not necessarily what really happens - I'm not saying he's lying, but things keep happening to him/GnR/managers/producers/etc that have made things he has said not be what really happens. We don't even know if this was really him and not someone pretending to be him. So forgive my pessimism. As with everything else GnR related, I'll believe it when I see it. Why is that such an unfair stance to take given everything that has happened over the years?

#5563 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose/Dexter forum chat discussion thread » 909 weeks ago
nice of him to chat with the fans, but there's really nothing here. Vague comments, no commitments, blah, blah, blah. If you're going to talk, talk. if you're not, then crawl back into your cave and hang out with Osama.

Brilliant q & a session, never thought this would never happen - some answers were very vague - notably why there there was no promotion.
All the answers were vague. He told us nothing. I saw excuses followed by vague comments followed by no commitment to anything in the future. So he says he has more material? I would hope so after all these years. Think Libertad with CD being CB. You get one chance to make a (second) first impression. That ship has sailed.

Well, that's one thought. I mean, nobody has ever heard of Guns N' Roses, right?

I'm stealing this idea from the Revisiting Contraband thread.
I never gave Slash's Snakepit much of a listen. I hear it and didn't like it because *gasp* Axl wasn't the singer, so I didn't like the vibe. I'm going to give it another shot this weekend. What songs should I be checking out to get the best flavor for the albums? I haven't heard them in like 10 years, so it will be like hearing new music.

Yeah, I don't get that from it at all.

Great music never guarantees great sales, Buzz.
It may not fit a lot of peoples tastes, that might play a real big factor, but it has nthing to do with the album being bad or mediocre.
And if I remember right, this album got a lot of rave reviews... But I'm sure that the good reviews don't count and you guys will explain why only the negative reviews count
Maybe not, but great music doesn't hurt sales either. Anyone that says the music is not a factor is only lying to themself. You love the album - I get that. A lot of other people don't like what they've heard so far whether through myspace or the radio. You can't discount that just because YOU think the album is great. YOU thinking it's great doesn't make it great.

Funny - Jon Bon Jovi with hired musicians. That made me chuckle.
#5570 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Chart Positions Thread » 909 weeks ago
I have to say that I think the reason the album is failing in the US has nothing to do with the quality of music.
I disagree. But I don't think it's the only factor or maybe even the main factor. To say it isn't a factor though is somewhat rediculous. 2 singles are out there - 2 of the rockers that people like the most and neither is pushing the album to greater heights. It is a factor - that is undeniable - the question is how much of a factor is it?
