Which law?
James Lofton wrote:In what world does this take place? The world where Fortus didn't know IRS existed in 2005, or the world where polished tunes with orchestra are ancient demos?
Well the demo thing is a seperate issue, i'll grant its wierd about Fortus in 05, but maybe the band talks more now than it did at that stage...Bumblefoots statement:
"we see each other on a daily basis, and when we're not, we're speaking to each other all the time, hanging out and doing things together, jamming and playing on each other's albums, and doing everything band members do"
so unless he's lying about all that stuff.
And to Axlin08 - I don't think Axl has directly lied to the fanbase, I think he says things that he believes to be true when he says them. However it's clear his perception of events is sometimes different to how others react to things, and so often these things turn out not to happen, or would not be how another person sees the project.
Take the better video - I'm sure when Axl said that he intended to relase it in a week. But something happened, either some legal complication, or he got into a fight with someone at the label, or something made him change his mind. So the result it what he said about the video was false, but I don't think it was a lie at the time.
Or likewise about the project overall. To someone like james its like NIN cos Axl has final control, but in his deter posts, Axl said that if he was to intentionally set out to make a solo album he'd have taken a very different approach, and that he felt creatively he'd worked with a lot of input from band members for this project. it's all about a persons perception.
Here's one that is in denial. *lol* The guys may talk to each other on a daily basis, but do they talk to Axl? And more importantly are they involved in the decision process? I think not. Them not being able to talk about anything about GNR and not knowing what's going on is proof of that. If they talk to each other on a daily basis including Axl then I guess GNR related stuff isn't coming up on a daily basis.

In no world James. People have lived in this "used and abused" beaten wife syndrome fan base for far so long, it's still gonna take years to finally break down the walls of illusion with these people.
What amazes me is the people still in denial that Axl's flat out lied to fans countless times. Just call it what it is. They then sit back and rationalize it as "it just didn't work out". Bullshit. He's lied to appease the fan base, just like all that stuff in the chat was total bullshit a few months ago, and no different than the Christmas 2006 Press Release.
I don't think he means anything personal by it, it's just business. I'd do the same, if it meant my paycheck.
The only difference now, is that Axl bit off more than he can chew. The botched rollout as Axl's FU to Universal was the "cup runneth over" moment for the fans. The tide has turned, and now they can do no right.
I kind of feel bad for Ron, and even Richard too. It's unfair for the fans to crucify them, when it's Axl that is ALL to blame for this abortion of a band and album.
I agree with you Axlin. And some will forever be in denial about Axl. To me GNR is another NIN or better yet it is now Axl's solo work. Sure others write songs with him but other solo artists do work like that too namely Ozzy. Only difference is that Ozzy releases music more often.

This I will buy. To me Izzy is the one that released the best music post GNR out of all of them including one Axl Rose.
#554 Re: Guns N' Roses » The Possibility of a Guns N' Roses '09 Summer tour » 884 weeks ago
There'd actually be more drama with VH & Chickenfoot, then there would ever be with VR & GN'R.
And that is sad. I wish Michael Anthony was still in VH. But a GNR VH tour would never work. Axl and Eddie Van Halen together? Ain't an arena or stadium big enough to fit those two wacko's egos.
#555 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Axl Rose vs. Metallica » 884 weeks ago
James was and probably still is a control freak as far as Metallica goes. It is the biggest reason Newsted left. So I do agree Monkey that both weren't saints and still aren't. Time heals all wounds and Metallica seems to have forgiven Axl about the Montreal fiasco. And Axl forgave Metallica for well for whatever reason Axl was pissed at them. When those two huge acts toured together in 92 you had to know this couldn't end well. Can you believe that back in 92 GNR played last. There is no way in hell that would happen today. GNR would be an opening act for Metallica period. And in 92 if I would've had to make a prediction, I would've predicted GNR becoming way bigger than Metallica. As much as I hate Lars, I have to give it to Metallica, they were able to survive the grunge and alternative era and come out of it all still one of the biggest acts out there. While Axl is still trying to figure out how to run a band.

Oh that fucking James Hetfield! How dare he insult the great all mighty awesome indestructible amazing Axl Rose!? Fuck you James! You're just jealous of Axl's career and his hair. Now I shall go cry in the corner and burn all my Metallica records.

Give us a resume faldor. But I have a funny feeling that before you write the resume I could write here what he said regarding GNR and I'm pretty sure 90% of it would be right on the money.
#558 Re: Guns N' Roses » Tales Of The Bumblefoot : An Exclusive Interview With Ron Thal » 884 weeks ago
Well according to Marc Strigl, one of the Talking Metal guys. He says not to expect anything from GNR until 2010, and as far as I know he's friends with Ron. I think the summer had all but been ruled out, but there was still a chance for the fall. I don't know exactly what Strigl knows, if anything. He could be just speculating like the rest of us.
As a fan I could find this to be bad news and be discouraged. HOWEVER I don't know why but reading this made me laugh. 2010. Is anybody truly really surprised at this? And will anyone really be disappointed or surprised if nothing happens in 2010? I mean why tour CD? They have toured several times before it was released. So logic tells me if Axl decides to tour with his hired band (Ron can say what he wants but truth is they are hired guns) that it will be for another new album. And Axl's logic (If such a thing exists) tells me that if Axl tours behind another new album that we won't see that said album for another at least 5 years. Now some will blast me on this but before doing so please rewind your memories and see the pattern here. Will it be pathetic? Oh hell yeah! Will people still believe in Axl and think he has some huge masterplan? Yep! Will I be one of those who falls in the trap? Nope! But I will follow the saga just to have a good laugh.

Neemo wrote:there is no doubt that NIN is more relevant to current music than GnR..doesnt mean i have to like it
Yep. I mean Coldplay and some American Idol contestants are more relevant to music today than GNR. Doesn't mean I have to like their music any better then CD.
I agree Russ. But doesn't mean one has to hate NIN suddenly just cause Trent made a negative comment towards Axl. Or has to start liking NIN for the same reason. And just so we're clear I'm not saying you hate NIN cause he called Axl an idiot.
#560 Re: Guns N' Roses » Trent Blasts Axl In New Interview » 884 weeks ago
If it's something that really fucking bugs me it is the people who constantly bitch and moan about the people who doesn't think that Axl can do no wrong are the people who constantly bitch and moan that Axl can do no right!
That same thing goes for people who do the same with Slash, any other former/present member of GN'R or anyone at all.
It's the same damn thing in opposite views and it shouldn't have to be that way. There should be some sort of middle ground.
It's driving me crazy.
Trent basically said "I'm not some fucking Axl Rose" and heads just start to explode.
Seriously... Who gives a shit?
I don't think this post was aimed at me but still. I agree with this. If Axl does something right I say it sadly it doesn't happen that often in the last few years. So it may appear that I point out more the bad things but fuck he has made more bad moves or decisions than good ones.
And Neemo yeah it's the yellow one.
And James NIN IS more relevant than Axl is today. It'snot even a close call.
