All these small steps they are taking at the moment are better than no action at all IMO.  Are these steps going to take us anywhere significant with this lineup, history tells us probably not.

Oh well, at least it gives us something to talk about and dissect along the way.

Things have been going at the speed of light lately in comparison to what we're normally accustomed to.  At this point, nothing would shock me.  And for once, I mean that in a good way.

Not to sound overly optimistic, but it's all good from where I'm sitting.

I find it hugely amusing that after all the castigation of Beta and Team Brazil as "Colonel Tom Parker" types leeching off Axl on the web forums, they've turned out to be the ones who are Getting Things Done. big_smile

My educated guess is that Team Brazil probably have some type of finger in the financial pie this time if things happen under their watch. So unlike in previous situations maybe it makes good financial sense to them to get Axl to do shit ths time around.  previously it probably meant nothing to them other than the risk of rocking the boat and upsetting Ax and threatening their power base.

Better than an AFD belt buckle, that's for sure!!

I don't believe anybody said they were forced to buy it.

However if they want people to voluntary buy it they may want to make it a bit more unique or special than it is. Because for me I ain't buying shit that I already predominantly own, I will try and get a boot for the NY gig which is the only thing I don't own.

I mean the Stoke show has been out for more than 12 months and on Blu ray.

I'm the first person to buy repackaged stuff form Slash and Axl even if there is some double up with what I have already, but this is just lame. There are a number of other shows they could have packaged with it, I just don't understand why the wouldn't, it's very lazy.

I mean think about it, the people that actually pay for music these days are almost a dying breed. The people, they want to buy this I imagine would probably be hardcore fans. If that's the case why shaft them with so much stuff they already have?

Why not put that Sydney gig they recorded on there or even that max sessions acoustic gig he did in Sydney on the previous tour etc. He has a heap of stuff to chose from so why fuck us over with stuff we already have.

#555 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » SLASH: Limited-Edition Deluxe Four-Disc Package » 710 weeks ago

Sadly I think the boxset is a heap of crap. I already bought Made in Stoke on Bluray and I own Apocolyptic Love so I'm not buying this fucker just for the NY DVD.

Honestly what goes thru the mind of the people that put together this shit. There are a number of other shows that have been recorded from my understanding so why not package something entirely new?

It's not that fucken hard is it to make something for the fans.

That main pic of the garage door with the graffiti has been around for 4 or 5 years or more. It wasn't recently made up for this exhibition. If faked then it was faked a number of years ago.

And if it does...where does someone like me...who marvels at Bumblefoots skills, who loves Slash's emotive playing, and who thinks Axl has the greatest rock voice in history go next....as this was the last bastion of independent thought.

Never going to happen as long as I have a say in the matter, and I think most of the people on the team agree.

Stay away from personal attacks and you can hold any opinion you want. We are ex members of HTGTH for a reason.

Agreed, to put it really crudely I don't believe the mods here collectively would be prepared to suck enough cock or forget their own strong views on all things GNR, which is what would need to occur for this site to end up like some others.  I know I certainly wouldn't be able to bite my tongue on what I feel about things.  My opinions my opinion.

I know Ron has had an account here for a few years (can't recall if he has posted before).  But the fact he posted that comment here I think says more about the other 2 sites and their politics/quality than it does about the mods here.  Plus it was only one post and he basically intimated that he won't be getting into any discussion and any further posting by him would be at gunsnroses.com.  I guess he had to post something out on the main forums since my guess is there aren't a hell of a lot of people on the official site. I know I'm not a member.

Well said, pretty much sums up my thoughts exactly!

Welcome to the forum.

I think the vid would have been fine to release back then.  Looks ok, serves the purpose well. They haven't spent too much on it by the looks of things and why would you nowadays.

It annoys me a bit early on where the live footage of him singing Better is slightly out of sync with the vocals. But other than that it's fine, not great not bad it just does its job.  I liked the way they introduced the band too.

NFI why they couldn't have released that at the time.  I'm guessing they were just taking the piss when they said Lars needed to sign off on it having now seen the context of his cameo in it. That certainly looked like DTJ in it too!
