I havew never been a NIN fan, their music is crap....yeah axl is an idiot sometimes, at least he makes good music though
one thing I never understood was how people compared Axl to Trent...they are not alike at all IMO
I have never really voiced my opinion on NIN cuz well this isnt an NIN site, if it was i wouldnt be here, i know alot of people like them but thats their problem not mine
And I believe you Neemo. I actually don't remember you voicing your opinion on NIN. But a lot had and now are hating NIN. While I do think it is stupid from Trent to trash other artists I won't hate him just cause he had one bad comment on Axl. Actually he has been having fun at Axl's expense for a few years now. I love the song hurt and that album actually I think it's called Downward Spiral but am not sure. I do know it is the only NIN album I own.

I wouldn't even hesitate for one nano second. God that guy annoys me. Does that make me a lesser Metallica fan? No fucking way! I love Metallica and will go see them live (I just won't meet Lars 
). Like I said before. Anybody who still believes Axl has this grand masterplan is either very delusional or not very smart. Axl has proved numerous times in his career that he isn't very smart. Talented yes but not gifted intelectually.

Maybe I'm giving people too much credit but I don't think they all of a sudden don't like Trent/NIN because of his comment on Axl. I'd venture to guess they didn't like him before and the comment certainly didn't change their minds for the better.
After all, the comment really isn't much of anything to get upset about. I could see if he came out and was completely vicious and over the top. But calling Axl an idiot? Come on! I read worse than that on a daily basis. I think what hurts Trent in this case is he does it time and time again with respected artists. If this was the first time he came out and said something critical then it might go by the wayside, but the man likes to get his opinions out there. I'm sure he's man enough to take some negative opinions back his way.
Really. Up until that thread alot of people who have trashed Trent here since he said Axl's an idiot(which he is) all loved him. And I'd bet you anything that those same people who love Baz, love his last crappy album, that wish he still tours with GNR (yuk!) would go ape shit on him if he ever dared talk trash on Axl or join Slash. I remember reading once. It may have been at HTGTH but am not sure. That Hetfield was jealous of Axl's carreer cause he had made a JOKE about Welcome to the Jungle. Now I ain't an expert but if I was Hetfield the last thing I'd be is jealous of Axl's carreer. And trust me that is so lame. I love Metallica but if I ever met Lars Ulrich I'd probably punch him in the face. I love GNR but for the life of me I can't defend Axl on being an idiot cause well quite Franctly he is a fucking idiot. I like Bon Jovi but I have to admit that Jon Bon Jovi has an ego that can't be measured. Point is, I can be a fan of one's music and still see that they are human beings and like us have flaws. On a closing note while Axl does seem to be an idiot I've always said that he seems to be a loyal generous person, the guy has to have some qualities as well.

Ah Bono. I do agree with you as I pointed out the same thing. But you see, the fanboys won't admit it. And what's even funnier is that Trent's comments are not that bad. When I saw this thread first, the first thing that came to my mind was that Trent lost a lot of Axl fans and would be blasted. And when I read the comments I went "That's it?". I can't even believe someone wasted time posting this. As for the fanboy's blasting Trent, same thing happened to Jason Newsted, one of the guys in Twisted Sister, Slash, and just about anyone who dares saying a bad word about Axl. And mark my words. Almost everyone praises Baz and his crappy album cause Axl is on it. If Baz ever says a bad word about Axl, I tell you Bono, you will se the fanboys turning on Baz faster than you will be able to say wow.

Axl is an idiot, but at least he has talent. NIN has always, always will, and does SUCK.
What good is it to have talent and let it go to waste? NIN suck? To you they do. To others they don't and GNR sucks to others. So the fact that NIN sucks is debateable as I don't like them either. Wether I like NIN I still say Reznor has talent. Just listen to the son Hurt. But what can't be debated and you admitted so yourself is that Axl IS an idiot. And CC if Prince was a dick to Reznor then all gloves are off and Prince deserves to get shit from the guy. Faldor. What Trent said is meaningless and quite franctly I can't believe it got it's own thread. I don't know what he said of Cornell so can't comment.

I agree. If Axl had to do it all then forget it, we'd never hear anything ever again. He has a band and we hardly hear any music so imagine if he was alone. I tell you D we'd never be able to compare cause Axl wouldn't be able to do shit. And madagas. I agree, Prince is very good. Purple Rain is one of my all time fav. I've listend to Prince way more times than GNR and that says a lot.

Trent is beneath Axl, so he shouldn't insult him, same as Prince
Durst and Manson I got no p roblem with cause he is above those guys
And some people would tell you that Axl and Prince are underneath Trent. I don't but I don't see them and beneath either. Although Prince may be debatable. I love Axl and Prince. Am a huge fan of Prince. I'm a huge GNR fan and as a performer Axl is up there. But like I said Axl is an proven idiot. As for Prince I don't remember what Reznor said and don't care. I like Prince. And if Reznor don't then his loss not mine.

He's just attention whoring. What better way for a music guy to get noticed than by saying things about famous people that most music fans agree with. I know I'm Captain Obvious sometimes, but this one takes the cake.
You know what's sad? I knew clicking on this thread that people would rip into Trent for this. That was more obvious than his statements or you. And some who slam him now praised him not too long ago. People I'm sorry to say this but he's right. Axl is a fucking idiot. He's proven it time and time and time again and time again could go on like the fucking energizer bunny. Anyone who still thinks Axl has this huge masterplan is living in a fantasy world. As for Simmons, Durst and Manson. Simmons you can't say his name or Kiss's name without owing him a quarter. He's a smart business man I'll give him that but he seems to be one of the world's biggest asshole ever. As for Durst only thing I can say is why name him? He's as relevant as T'Pau now. I mean come on! And Manson. I don't know the guy but yeah I could've said this guy ruined his life and carreer with drugs and alcohol. Another one that is pretty much irrelevant. As a matter of fact Durst and Manson should call Trent up and thank him for metioning their names out there. And before the accusations fly I am not a NIN fan or a Trent fan. Just that I can't argue with him there.

Yeah, I'd find that hard to believe that they'd pay $10 per CD. No retailer would agree to something as ridiculous as that. I'm not sure what the actual cost is for CD's, but it's got to be far less than $10. I know they "hoped" the exclusive would garner extra foot traffic and lead to sales of larger items, but still that wouldn't be worth paying $10 a pop. That information can't be correct, otherwise whoever agreed to that should be fired immediately if that hasn't been taken care of already.
Whatever the case though, it works for me. I got the album, FINALLY. And in the end, that's all that really matters.
When I owned a record store and mind you that I wasn't nearly as big as Best Buy. If a new release was sold at say 12,99$ I'd pay it 11$ And I know for a fact that a store like Best Buy would get it for about 10$. Maybe it has changed since then. But cost is way more than people think it is. Money was not made on new releases, it was made on older cd's, t-shirts, posters and stuff like that.
