Bad choice for a first single.  Some will not make it to the part where the music kicks in...they will be at another station.  Others will be listening for the hook that isn't there.  There's nothing catchy, nothing to sing along to...there's just nothing.  Welcome to SBQM II.  Choosing this over Better was a fatal mistake.

I can only assume your opinion is backed by countless research, demographics, etc?

If you want to prove me wrong, be my guest.  I stand by what I said, and supposed initial responses aside, 1 day does not a good decision make.  40 seconds of nothing to start the song?  Yeah, that isn't going to work.  I bet it's gone to radio edit hell very, very soon.

The song is bad.  No, not just bad, terrible.  Boring, simple, not creative, not catchy, not a song that is going to bring new listeners in.  It's a song that will keep BH fans happy and keep the few GnR fans that obsess over the new band interested.  Period.  So a few internet fans got all geeked up to hear the song at the announced time and claim to love it to radio stations...there's a big surprise. roll

Give it time.  Let's see how many people love it in a week, or better yet, how many people love it enough to buy an album because of it.  Eventually the internet geeks will stop calling in and we'll get the real story.  If I'm wrong then, I'll be the first to admit it.  I know some people that were excited when SBQM came out...

#5813 Re: Guns N' Roses » Worth the Wait??? » 916 weeks ago

If SGB was an instrumental, it would be liked by more people.  The lyrics are really a turnoff to most people, but the song itself is pretty good.

To answer the question of the thread, no album would be worth this wait.  The best album ever made would not be worth this wait.  The real question is going to be how it is received by those that didn't really wait and this is their introduction to GnR.

anyone who has a big problem with this song is most likley not being honest.

it will get ripped a bit in the begninning by the ones that have been waiting to do so and then things will calm down and the casual listeners will latch onto it.

So much for every opinion having value...

I'm not taking the bait war.  Good try though.

#5818 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Best Buy promotional ads » 916 weeks ago

Not interested in the ads, but I would dl the album the second it leaked if it was available to me.  I'll still buy a copy no matter what, but if it's not impressive, no need to open my copy up.

I have the best buy digital music store with rhapsody...I wonder if CD will be there?

so i have your permission, buzz? 14

i disagree without prejudice.....

if you like the demo of one song more than the released version of another.  you can assume you will still like the same song better once it is released since it is 99.9 percent more likley to sound even better than the demo version.

Didn't offer or expect anyoe to seek my permission for anything.  All I said was that it clearly isn't being objective, which it isn't.  Being objective isn't a requirement, it just renders your opinion worthless.

Think of it as the same as me saying one of the songs that nobody has heard yet sucks.  Yes, it's an opinion, but it's worthless.  Same thing here.

#5820 Re: Guns N' Roses » CD and WTTJ comparison » 916 weeks ago

There's nothing wrong with liking them both, but anybody that is really being objective would wait to hear a mastered version of a song before declaring it better than one of the best rock songs ever.
