Silkworms is defitinely out there somewhere.

I'd kill to hear Atlas.

Me too. I've been dying to hear that one for several years.

I'd even be beyond thrilled with a studio clip of Silkworms.  I know I'm in the minority, but I freaking LOVE that track.

I'm also curious what MSL knows (or even speculates) about the "Checkmate" and Blood in the Water leaked clips - their legitimacy, where they came from, etc.

Not sure how well this fits the theme of the topic, but about 2 years before CD was released, a "fake insider" posted lyrics to Sorry over at HTGTH to prove he/she was legit.  Then he/she just disappeared.  I think "demolition" was the user name.  The song title wasn't mentioned, but the lyrics - as it turned out - were correct.

As much as I enjoy Padmasana, do you really want to include an 11 minute softie in an attempt to woo a non-believer?  Just not sure that's how I'd go.  There are some really good slow Bucket tracks that are much shorter and very impressive... Mrs. Beasley may be a good alternative, or Whitewash. Some other suggestions not yet mentioned:

Sail on Soothsayer
Nun Chuka Kata
Crack the Sky
Baseball Furies
Brewer in the Air
Machete
Sea of Expanding Shapes
My Sheetz
Stick Pit
Lebron
Jump Man

#54 Re: GN'R Downloads » [CD-R] Guns N' Roses @ "01-01-01" » 707 weeks ago

I appreciate the upload and the speed of the download, but this sounds exactly like every other download I've gotten from the show. If it is a soundboard, they must have mic'd a bunch of screaming fans and included their sounds too. That's not to say the recording is bad. It just wasn't what I was hoping to hear.

The news itself isnt surprising. Whats surprising is the fact he was willing to admit theyve done nothing & he hasnt even heard any of the ancient material.
I expect silence or a reunion after this tour. CD II is nowhere near a launch pad.

I'm not sure that quote means he hasn't heard any of the ancient material.  Could the "..........hearing some of the ideas and songs that are already done" quote mean ".......having heard some of the...."?  It isn't as if Americans are all perfect at word selection.  I've heard it said both ways and am sure I've stated it both ways.

Since you mentioned reunion, I have often wondered these last few months if the reluctance to release - or even play - any new material may be because Axl is actually considering a reunion, and holding back music so he'll have something to contribute to a reformation.

The next album needs to be on the front burner. That rice was ready 20 minutes ago. It's time to fuckin' eat.

You can wait until ol' uncle Axl is done in the bathroom washing his hands. Meanwhile, everyone else is at the dinner table waiting to eat. The rice will be served when uncle Axl comes to the table

Bullshit, i'm already eating. 22

Could you please pass the potatoes?

#58 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses on YouTube » 721 weeks ago

Thanks for the comments on the video, guys.  Naltav, that bit by Clint was actually in the end credits of the movie, as the car is being driven away along the coast.  The Jamie Cullum version actually follows Clint's.  I would have used that for the mix/video too, but I think it would have been overkill.

#59 Re: Guns N' Roses » New song poll » 721 weeks ago

Soul Monster would be my #1, but since it is not an option, I went with Atlas.  How in the hell have we known about this song for 12 years and I've still not heard a single second of it?  Breaks my heart.  It has almost reached This I Love mythical status in my book, but I actually want to hear Atlas more than I wanted to hear TIL.

Gawd I miss bands like this.  I saw them in '89 or '90 at Red Rocks in Colorado, and it is easily one of the best shows I've ever seen (even though Sykes had already left).  The tracks you posted above have my attention.  I may have to buy me some new CDs!
