It's interesting, it's easy to believe it's a misquote, and he is meaning CD, not AFD.
However, there should be more than 29 demos for CD, tracklist is 14, not 11.
I'll have a dig next week and see if there are missing demos for afd. It's interesting if nothing else.
Thanks Sp1at!
For sure there are more demos than 29, but I think he is talking about finished songs and he said an accurate number, he could have said around 30 but he pointed that there were 29 so that's a good indicator of left songs ready to be released I think

I'd believe maybe a song or two dates from then....but I don't buy slash was sitting on an AFD2 worth of riffs for the past 9 albums given how he remakes good ideas when people won't listen to him.
I just think Tom Mayhue misspoke. Pretty sure he meant Chinese era songs and not AFD. Who knows? I'd need to hear it from at least two sources before I believed it tbh.
Joe Rogan bumped into Axl in Greece so maybe he invited Axl to do a podcast and we can find out, I doubt it though
https://www.instagram.com/p/CvE3c0cuQqb/joerogan. Was in Greece on vacation and randomly ran into Axl Rose at a restaurant. He invited us to see @gunsnroses in Athens, and it was FUCKING AMAZING. They went HARD for 3 hours in the blazing heat and the crowd was incredible. If you have a chance to see them near you I can’t recommend it enough.
He talked about 29 songs finished, if he is talking of the CD era, 14 were submitted on the first album and Hardskool and Absurd on 2021, that leaves 13 songs finished at this point
I don't know if somebody knows here about the Spotify case around october of last year were some songs start suggesting GNR and Absurd or Hardskool.
This songs were (if I remember correctly):
State of Grace, Atlas Shrugged, The General, Perhaps, Soul Monster, Se7en, Zodiac, Oklahoma, Thyme and Cuban Skies.
Could It be that there are really 13 songs finished but the only ones that have been uploaded are being considered to be released, some of them soon and the other ones not, and of this 10 songs only some of them have been re-recorded with Slash & Duff?
About of this 10, we know that The General and Perhaps are for sure re-recorded with them and that's my opinion but the found of Se7en spelled like this makes me believe It has also been re-recorded.
Which also fits with the description of Slash of sounding epic the songs.
I throw my theory here, I don't know if anybody thinks something similar

I really hope so, his tone doesn't seem anywhere near what it used to be
Slash tone of 90's would be perfect!

I posted this in the GN’R thread, but no one has said anything about it.
Seems like pretty interesting news, just not the news we want (new GN’R album)New Slash solo album out next year. More along the lines of the 2010 album with guest singers, but this one will apparently be more blues oriented.

But as for his possibly most anticipated future project — long-rumored new GNR music — he plays coy again. “It comes out when it comes out,” he says with a big grin. “So, you know, just stay tuned.”
Excited about Slash solo album I think It may have some surprises.
Sad because ''it comes out when It comes out'' are surely words from Axl which may not be soon

Always thought this track from the locker leaks stood out as something a bit special that Axl might be able to craft into an epic - very Illusions sounding ...
Anyways, played around in my studio and added some other instruments to it - drums, bass and guitar - was fun...
Very rough and quick but check it out and let me know what you think!
That's great work!
I always felt that this instrumental has great potential and It's on my top from the locker leaks!

Have some Circus Maximus. I boosted the bass turned down pittman and looped the part i think is best. If this really is Se7en I hope they keep that piano part

That piano part is so good!

An update from everyone here, Axl's tour manager said this: "And I know the band's gonna start working on new music - they've got a bunch of stuff recorded already - there will be new Guns N' Roses music very soon. In fact, I think they're trying to get a single out, like any day now. So you may hear something very, very soon."
Very good news from a person near to Axl

Yeah thats right. It's thanks to you that we have much of the info we do.
"As far as the songs go: 'Oklahoma' was pretty much written by the time they got to the studio. Axl wrote that with inspiration from the Oklahoma City bombing (more as a tribute to those who died, if I'm not mistaken).(Dave Dominguez, Sp1at, 02/07/05).
It was inspired by a court date with ex-wife Erin Everly. ''I was sitting in litigation with my ex-wife, and it was the day after the bombing,'' .'' (Axl Rolling Stone. 2000) That was two days after Duff and Izzy recorded Toothpuller, Machine gun, down by the sea in April 95
“I was a staff engineer at Rumbo Recorders and was about to quit or lose my mind . I thought it was time to get what clients I had (practically none) and get out. The manager came to me and said Guns was coming in to do their next record and they had no producer or engineer and that needed someone with experience so I said "yes" and she also said they would be writing for two months and then recording for two months and they would be it (haha) seven months later. I bailed on good terms with Axl and the band but not with the studio”.(David Dominguez Sp1at)
“Most of the songs had working titles but I know that "Oklahoma" and "Ides of March" were songs that were almost complete.(David Dominguez Sp1at)
“Some were three seconds long, some were three minutes long. Sometimes it was just a guitar lick. ‘Oh, that’s cool.’ They were transferred to CD. Everything had an ID and a number, then the CDs were made for each member of the band. They could go, OK, on set four, CD three, idea 15, let’s do something with that.’ Then everybody would take their CD home, get the part and write something to that. It was intense.(David Dominguez Producer 2010.12.DD - What's On Dubai)
I believe the ID system is on the locker leak discs too. The Rebel is J587 278 for example, makes me wonder how many of those discs there were in total
All this kinda confirms that Oklahoma and Ides of March are completed, I would die to hear an studio version of Oklahoma with Slash on It or even the leaked one seems so good

Does somebody here know how to improve images?
We have a setlist photo where the alternate setlist does not seem visible at all but I think with some work can be done and this could help us to know if there is any song different from Perhaps prepared

It was probably his way of saying calm down
I hope so, we also have a quote from Frank the same day saying that they hope to play Perhaps soon, so things are starting to make no sense for me!
