I like Libertad more than Contraband as well.  Listening to Libertad with headphones completely changed my opinion on the album.  The mix is terrible and I think if the guitar had been more in the forefront, it would change a lot of people's perception of the album.  It's sad that it took playing Messages on GH3 for me to realize how much was going on in that song that you can't hear that well through speakers.

I will likely watch it.  I find it interesting, though not like when I was a kid.  I remember sitting up with my parents watching the US beat the USSR in Ice Hockey in 1980 and how big of an event that was.  I also remember winning a lot of free shit from McDonalds when the Russians boycotted the 84 summer games in LA.  I don't think there's a compelling storyline this year other than Phelps, and quite frankly, I don't care to watch men in speedos.

So how would that equal "something even more grand" or "nothing short of spectacular"??  I don't buy it.

Hats off my friend."

personally, I'd like to know what that "joint venture" is....:ummm:

Reading this a second time, I think the joint venture and something even more grand both refer to a reunion.  The joint venture part means getting CD out and still doing a reunion of some sort.  Not that everything GnR does makes sense, but what else could it be?  Nothing else could be even more grand or nothing short of spectacular.

When's the last time we heard anything about the VR new singer?

Well, there's only one thing that "something even more grand" can be.  Two things I guess if you believe there are really 3-4 albums worth of material finished.

well technically, Josh Freese is in the pic too...Freese and Finck together are a big loss.:o

I was including him in the discussion...it wasn't anti-Finck.  I like NIN and think both fit better there than they ever did in GnR.  I'm glad they are where they are and they probably are too.

No big loss to Guns, but a great addition for NIN.  Everything that Guns lost that mattered happened before 2003 (or whenever it was that BH bailed).

Hasn't skipped a beat?  I think it's better than the GnR days.  Sobriety may not have made him a creative genius, but he's a lot more technically sound than he ever was live for GnR.
