Not really much news on here.
He said he could never be in a situation where union overtime and late starts are always an issue
I still say this is what happened in Philly. They were going to pull the plug at midnight so Axl refused to even bother.

nah its all cool i understand why people can gravitate to that type of sound and style...but to say that a garage sounding band is comparable to Slash's work is a bit of a stretch IMO...
:
Sorry for highjacking the thread over this, but to finish IMHO I like Louder than Love, Ultramega OK, Bleach & Incesticide more than the over-polished sounds of UYI I & II.
Soundgarden did break up early, but then again myb it was the best time. Look at what Pearl Jam did from 97-06, not a whole lot of greatness there IMO. Last album was good but in between I wasn't much into it. Cantrell was good also, maybe he was better than Thayil. I'd admit probably more "skilled", but I like Thayill's riffs in songs, drop D tuning & sliding chords.

Rusty Cage & Outshined are classics. Let alone Superunknown. I like early SG also, songs like Gun & Full on Kev's Mom. Sure it's garage band sounding, but it was real. Like why I like Nirvana's Bleach so much.

In what way, do you not like Thayill, or just not like Thayill in any Slash/VR talk or comparisons?
Soundgarden and esp early Soundgarden was awesome!!

One book I read about a year ago was 'Under and Alone'. It was badass!! It's about a ATF (Alchohol, Tobacco & Firearms) agent who goes undercover as a biker & gets initiated into a gang to bust them for drugs & gun sales. He makes real good friends with 1 or 2 of them, damn near has to kill people to prove his worth, and witnesses many fights & drug use. Some cool moments, like he was driving his undercover car after a party. Had a little bit to drink, but was afraid to get DUI because his alias. Also I think he kept a gun hidden in his car for safety. If the cop found it, he couldn't tell him he's undercover, because word could spread back in the police station about the incident, and the gang has informants in the police. The whole ploy would be ruined & he'd have to move elsewhere for fear of revenge from the gang, putting him & his family in jeopardy. Cool shit like that. It was a true story too, so I realized how nuts the guys was to pull it off. Always afriad of being followed back to his "real family" when he'd go home every now & then. It was like a 2 year job.

I don't even know what to say?? Set your goals high maybe?!
No college should let this kid on campus though. Not for at least 2 years & proof he took massive amounts of therapy. Not meds, therapy!

Thayil is great, ashame he never got in on a "Supergroup". Slash is great also, but I think he needs a good rhythym guitarist to create the song, then he's the best at leading it, in a way where he takes that tune and runs with it. Playing lead solo's, scales etc. Case in point look at Libertads first single, SBQM. The guitar riff, while Soundgardenesque, was kinda weak. Now Thayill and Slash in VR would have been badass. Maybe that's what they were missing.

^^ Boy I don't think we could have had worse timing as far as a post starting a new page with..
But yeah, it's not like she'll ever go back into the real world & or start working. She's probably too wacked out. I don't know if or how her kids will goto school. They all must be traumatized & culture shocked. Who knows though, maybe the 15 year old has a myspace page with pics taken from her camera phone while wearing Paris Hilton style sunglasses.

Yeah, the giving birth is hard to imagine. Once maybe, but 7??! Also, I understand the walls were "soundproof" but are they really able to conceal all noise from a woman screaming while in labor?? It's not like the dad could tell the wife to plan to leave the house that day.
Strange that the kids never saw daylight. Imagine being 10 or whatever and NEVER being outside. Had to be hard on her to raise 7 active kids in such small confines. That alone would drive me crazy. Also, imagine how much the world has changed since 1984?? Being is Austria, the nearby Eastern European countries were communist, the world is so much smaller and more connected, cell phones, and most of all, the internet. Youtube and google are going to freak her out!

Yeah Birons playing great, but I suppose alot of shots he does have a clear view of. Hatchers play did seem kinda boneheaded, but I suppose that's what they get with players like him. You take the good with the bad. Kindof like Rasheed Wallace in Basketball, great player, but he'll get some stupid technical fouls too.
