If JB couldn't keep one going, I highly doubt anyone will unless they branch out to other topics.

Losing Izzy hurt the songwriting, but they could have hung around just off of reputation had they stayed active and not broken up even without great new music.  Losing Slash ended that option until basically 2006, and even then it wasn't anything special.  So I'd say Slash was a pretty big loss too.  Their place in music history was cemented by the end of the UYI tour and if there is a reunion, that will be proven.  If only Axl can draw a small crowd 12 years after the UYI tour with absolutely no new music, imagine what the real band could do with or without new music.

Robin won't get any royalties from CD......maybe publishing money if  songs he has writing credits on are played on the radio or whored out to movies and advertising.

ps I do agree that Robin got fed up like countless others, for whatever reason, and simply said fuck off.

Why would someone spend all this time on a record and only settle for publishing money?  That's stupid on their part.

So who makes the money then Axl?

So all that talk about Axl not being motivated by money then is a crock of horse shit?

When you're a contract emplyee, you don't get all the benefits.  You get paid for your contribution and whatever you've done is owned by the company (or Axl in this case).

I think it's already a nostolgia act, which is why people see it as an option now.

I think it's awesome that we get to hang out here with so many people that are passionate about the music they like and what they don't like.  I've been exposed to some pretty cool stuff I never would have heard otherwise, so please keep the musical taste disagreements coming...we're all better for it.

I think the tracks do...who wasn't excited among us to hear the leaks when they first came out?

Me.  I spent my time spreading the music to those that really wanted it instead of downloading it myself.

The only songs I have on my MP3 player anymore are TWAT and Better.  That's it.  The rest of the songs could go away forever and I wouldn't even blink.  I still have 3.6 GB of space and don't want to waste it with the rest of the songs...that's how bad I think they are - at least on the leaks.  I really think a less is more attitude is needed on all those songs...even TWAT and Better.

Even after reading who he is, I still have to ask: who?

It's not that simple CC.  the cost of leaving now would be more than the cost of staying until a plan could be put in place for withdrawl.  We're stuck there for now.  I don't like it, but I don't like what could happen if we just leave even more.
