did Robin never write for Trent?
isn't some of NIN stuff his own creation?

or was he always told what to do/play?

NIN is and was Trent, even the instruments.  The other guys are touring musicians.

Sounds familiar.

The article is right on the money when it comes to Geffen sinking 13mil in a record not yet released but the comment on the Hilfiger fight makes it look like Axl was just frustrated and started with him when that certainly wasn't the case.

The guy is 44 years old.  It doesn't matter what happened, he needs to grow up and learn to control himself.

This is no different than the reviews of the show.  I don't believe any of it as fact.  It's one man's opinion and as close as he seems to think he was to everything, he wasn't.  He has an outsider's opinion.  2 people really know the whole story and neither of them is named Marc.  Slash has his story and Axl is afraid to tell his.  It is what it is.  Who cares why - the best band in the world is no more and all that's left is 2 bands that blow compared to what we had when it was one band.

Axl's death is the only way I see CD coming out, so I agree with you in some sick, twisted way.

Fickle Fans.....bah!

Fickle?  Fickle would have given up in the mid 90s.  Anybody that made it to 2002 deserves a medal.

Well they would have had to been more successful if GNR was "silent". Im not knocking them cause they are one of two hair bands too actually survive and been able to live off their music. The other being Bon Jovi so respect is due but too call them more relevant I can't agree with. Even with no albums and a few tours GNR is still more relevant than Poison because of the the quality of music made by Guns.

Highlighted the key word.  The GnR we all knew and most of us loved no longer exists.  The "current" (if you can call it that) lineup hasn't accomplished a thing and no lineup has accomplished anything since 1994.

I gave up on the band at the VMAs.  It was a train wreck then and nothing has changed since then.  Luckily for me, I will always have the memories of the real band and I'll never have to give up on that.

Why do you ask when he's done this recently?  This has to be an all-time list.  If it was a current list, Axl wouldn't even be make it.

Maybe he's not as close to Slash as one might think.  He doesn't even know Slash was part of GHIII.

1. saying it sucks would be an opinion. every album has fillers and if he was only willing to listen to the first 2 songs i would, personally, have the opinion that he would not be able to give an objective review of THE ALBUM. you cannot be objective about something you have not heard, that's for sure.

While I agree with what russ said, I also have heard albums where I hated the first 2 songs so much that I didn't care about the rest of it.  I would gladly tell anybody that the album sucked so bad that I couldn't even get through the first 2 songs.  If I missed something and it's that good, someone will surely correct me down the road.

2. yur right - i do not know what you know. but was i wrong about the 2 things i said you/most would agree with? do you not think that guitars are a vital part to the rock genre? do you not think that any majority of rock songs would be boring if you took out the lead guitar and listened to them? please correct me if i am wrong. as far as the recording, you are right again. i was not there. but maybe i could e-mail one of the members who were and find out for sure if twat was written with the intnetion of having guitar work in it. although if i asked such a stupid question i don't think even ron would respond to that one.

You're (not surprisingly) taking what I said out of context.  To be fair, the majority of rock music today doesn't really have what I would call a lead guitar.  If you can't recognize the difference between the role of the lead guitar on say Estranged vs the role of lead guitar on (insert modern rock track here), then we can't even try to have a discussion on the issue.  As for Ron's opinion, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he wasn't there when TWAT was written, so his thoughts are no more valid than yours or mine.  I'm not saying the song wasn't written for something like that at the end...I'm sure it was, but BH created something special that from what I've seen, none of the other guys in the band could have created and it fits the song.  I don't think Slash could have created something that fits the song that well, so it isn't a Slash bias and I don't like that I'm "defending" BH..
