I want to agree because there are parts I like on that really early mix but I can't. That early mix on RM1 is too messy for me. Axl sounds like he's in an echo chamber and some of the extra instrumentation that isn't in later versions deserved to be cut imo. Sounds too distracting and tacked on in the early mix.

I doubt songs like Dub Suplex became anything. Songs like that belong on Bucket solo albums.

I wouldn't be surprised. Shackler's Revenge later becomes a song and it equally in this state sounds like something that belongs on a Bucket album.

You're right....disc 4 is grade A stuff and when these discs were still in the process of leaking, I thought this one deserved to be the finale....not disc 2.

Still felt the same way after hearing them.

Nothing is garbage IMO.

Thyme is basically a song fragment and difficult to judge without hearing PRL-Thyme fleshed out more.

Soul Monster is a monster. A Buckethead epic brought to the table and obviously shot up the A list. Shocked that other than vocals, it's already finished in 2000.

Circus Maximus/Ides/Seven

Definitely big gun material. Dizzy wasn't lying.

D Tune and Curly Shuffle are the two surprises on the disc. They're verging on Soundgarden tracks.

As It Began is definitely something that got another title at some point.

Is it confirm that Seven is Circus Maximus??

Not confirmed but highly suspected with good reason. It may at the very least be the basis for what becomes Seven.

After hearing early Shackler's I am really curious to hear what happened to these other instrumentals later on, some do feel like one idea looped over and over for 6 minutes even if I like them (Dub Suplex, Dummy for example). Who knows what they became!

I wonder in what ways these gems got butchered later on during recording 16

Bill Clinton was president when the tracks on RM1-4 were mixed.

TWAT. Really don't like the song that much without the Bucket solo, this version blows.

It's best not to ask and not to know. Best for those delivering us anything

It apears the government's current stance is that if opposition MPs don't want death threats they should just agree with the government....

I remember us joking years ago that Axl should just join Praxis while CD is in limbo.

He wound up getting similar material to work with.

That rough mix disc yesterday was pre-bucket CD. These others look to have him dominating the material.

It's not all pre Bucket, look at the mix dates on the tracklist. Bucket was in the band by latest March 2000. He might be on some of the March mixes but it seems unlikely. Anything with a mixdate that's September, October, November he's likely on it and the ones that sound like him fit those dates.
