not to mention the record was funded out of his own pocket.   to download these and not buy them is a pretty fucked up thing to do.

If Baz funded the album himself, then I agree.  I have no problem with people downloading them to see if they like them, but if you like the songs, buy the album.  This isn't going to screw over Corporate America, it'll just screw over Baz.

Almost every song post AFD needs Dizzy....

I disagree.

I think Dizzy Reed as a whole has brought very little to nothing at all to the band so far. I think Axl could have played his parts, or they could have been removed altogether, and the song quality would have still remained.

I don't know about you, but I could have lived without him headbanging in the background to the Garden of Eden video. Also, if the rest of his contributions are anything like Silkworms, he can keep them.

From a creative standpoint, I think Dizzy is close to useless.  They do need someone to play keyboards, but whether it's Dizzy or some reject from Robby Hart's Piano School really makes no difference.  It's possible the CD songs could change that, but it isn't likely.  Dizzy should be a touring musician and not a "member" of the band (if he even is a member of the band and not a contract employee).

I think the album will do ok. I would guess the 20k mark as well. Based on the sales other releases have been getting. Other then these boards, I don't see this album moving more copies because of Axl's involvement. I think whatever promotion Bach can go out there and do is whats gonna move copies.

There are people on this site that have said they are buying it just because of Axl.

He can give an opinion on a song he hasn't listened to? That's what this thread is about right? The song Stuck Inside?

This is a Guns N' Roses site.  People talk about shit they have no clue about every day.  There are songs that none of us have heard that have the reputation among some fans as being masterpieces.  There's an album none of us have heard that some people think will sell a million copies it's first day out.  Speculation is all we have.

I think its wierd to download then not listen. I'd either listen to it, or not bother in the first place to D/L. Your results may vary smile

I did that with the gnr leaks last year.  I didn't listen to them for awhile, but gave in eventually.  I wanted to have them in case I changed my mind.

Once the buisness side is taken care of, there will be some other reason why CD isn't coming out yet.

I'd love to see Slash and Axl reconcile....but sadly it still seems unlikely these days.

The one and only way I'd want something to happen with Slash is if it similar to the Pink Floyd deal. After all the bad shit that went down between those guys, they really looked like they LOVED to be playing those songs together again.

I wouldn't want it to be like those bands that just go out there for the sake of it and you can just tell they hate each other. The only example I can think of off the top of my head is Halen in 04, it was like watching strangers play the songs together.

I agree with russ.  I was all for a reunion for a long time, but lately my thoughts on that have changed.  I don't want a reunion unless everybody is really into doing it.  No clauses giving Axl the back catalog or doing it just for the money.  Admittedly, I'd still go see it regardless of the reason, but I'd be happier about it if they were doing it because they really wanted to.

I agree with russ on scott not being great for VR, but he was better than their other options at the time.

A good first single is what sells albums. Admittedly other factors come into too such as the artist or the anticipation for the album but as a general rule a good first single is what will set the ball rolling better than anything. VR didn't have one on Libertad, hence the poor sales.

I definitely think the was the A1 contribution factor on the Libertad issue.

I agree.  I usually don't even listen to that song when I listen to the album.

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash was a guest on "Late Show with David Letterman" Tuesday night (October 30) to promote his newly published memoir, "Slash", which came out yesterday via HarperEntertainment. When asked about his current relationship with Axl Rose, Slash said that he would like to clear the air between them and admitted that the bad blood that exists was partly his own vault, caused in part by his bitterness over the breakup of the original GUNS N' ROSES. When David asked if those wounds would ever be healed, Slash said that it's all in the future and left the door open to a reconciliation.

A short clip featuring Slash talking about his relationship with Axl can be viewed on the "LateShow":

If I were in Slash's current band, I'd want to reconcile with Axl too.

You like Baz, but don't like VR?  lol
