Obama should write off the South as a loss. A VP like Edwards might pull in a few votes in that region, but I would use the strategy that the South is going republican and just hope for the best in that area.

A democrat can win the White House without the south. He wins Cali and NY, he's almost half way to the White House.

Agreed about the South. With Edwards, he might get S. Carolina, and possibly another state, N Carolina or Tenn.

Yeah, the presidency basically rides on like 5 states, Florida, Cali, Michigan, Ohio & like 1 or 2 other swing states, Virginia & NY myb. The rest are consistently red or blue.

I'll say again though that I think a McCain/Guiliani ticket would almost spell certain victort for the Democrats if they run either Obama or Clinton.  The polls indicate this and no amount of wishful thinking on some people's parts is going to allow extremist on either side to get into power.  That is what is so insane about Obama getting the nomination; he represents the far left wing of the Democratic party much like Huckabee represent the Christian right.  A McCain/Guiliani ticket will set well with most Republicans and Regan Democrats.  It shall be an interesting election.

Obama would open a can of whoop-ass on McCain/Guiliani, wouldn't even be close. I honestly think Obama's about to explode & walk away with this thing. & I do think Obama/Edwards has potential. Change, and a Northerner & Southerner. Remember, some South states nearly voted Democratic last election, which has been virtually unheard of in recent years.

James, as for why to vote for Obama, he's a very bright guy, a gifted speaker, who is capable of making reasonable, logical decisions. 3 things our current president is not!! These attributes will help him and our country in foreign relations, and he'll put qualified people in appropriate positions (ie. NOT Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzalez etc). Also, people knock him for not being a politician long enough have no idea he worked in inner city Chicago hearing the problems of the inner city & working with the community. I read his book & I swear to God 1 section seemed exactly like the Ice Cube movie 'Barbershop', to a T. Also, he served on the Illinois state legislature. So in essence, he's a man of the people, who's gone from the mailroom to the boardroom, and that I respect.  What the fuck did Bush ever do?? Ruin a few businesses, buy a baseball team, and run for Governor because he had the same name as his Dad. No wonder this countries fucked!!

And yeah he owns single female vote, oddly enough they didn't go for Hilary. But at first Hillary did get the black vote, but that is starting to change as they are realizing Obama is a candidate with a chance. Guiliani will NOT be VP as the dems are taking NY.

EDIT: Starts at 5PM ET tonight... so in about 20 min

No one is going to watch that. The playoffs are on.:haha:

I did like when Obama was asked his opinion on the republicans being questioned "What do you think of Barack Obama as potential Democratic nominee" (and all the republicans gave their response) Obama replied "I gotta be honest with you, I was flipping back & forth between the republicans and football" 16 16

Good call on the Cocked & Loaded album. I had that as well, it was decent. Had Jayne on it. I mostly bought it to hold me over until UYI came out. Their followup album had a great song on it "It's over now" I always liked that song, very underrated but like you said grunge pretty much ended them. Funny you say that too, I remember they were on MTV's spring break in 1992 & broke into the 4 Teen Spirit chords in the middle of their set. They seemed cool about it, just playing around. I wish that was on youtube.

Weezer 16  I thought they retired.. 14 Cool to see Black Crowes with something, hopefully that's got some good tunes. I thought I heard it was Counting Crows coming out with an album though, maybe I heard it wrong. Hopefully most of these are out by July.

well now...who is gonna take a chance on this guy

Actually it wouldn't be a bad pickup for alot of teams.. Not necesarily as a starter, but as a backup with a chance to compete for the #1 spot in training camp. Teams like the Jets, SF, Miami, ATL, STL, KC, Balt and probably 1 or 2 others need a starting QB, and a decent backup QB as well. I'd possibly trade a 4th rd pick for him. Nothing higher, but it never hurts to have some competition. This guys crazy though if he thinks he's good enough to be GIVEN a starting job, I'd look at it like the Browns of this year, Charlie Frye & Derek Anderson 1 & 2, but Anderson beat him out & won in the end. That's the best JP can hope for, a #2 spot with a chance. Although, that's kinda what he had in Buffalo isn't it?? 16

all true but in regards to the bolded part....yes it was put out to recoup the costs of CD, but in reality they could have released GH and CD and been that much farter ahead...i was saying from a buisness point of veiw that the CD money is still a lost expense untill CD is actually released, cuz that money was spent on CD ... not on GH, as you can plainly see from the packaging of the peice of shit

I think Neemo's right on this one. The label would have made that much money anyway. So it wasn't worth them investing $13 mil into the project, they already had roughly 3 million GH sales coming to them. Nowadays they probably wouldn't have sold that many but nobody would have predicted that back then, plus it probably would have sold a good amount. It's like ordering a seafood sampler at a resturant that comes with Shrimp, scallops, fish, mussels and king crab legs, and the waiter coming over and telling you there are no more king crab legs left. When you ask for a discount or something he tells you "Why, we're giving you Shrimp, scallops, fish, & mussels aren't we??".

^^ You have a good point about Minn & Detroit, but maybe they could play in college stadiums or something. Could you imagine the Red Wings at Michigan?!

Philly's too warm to try it on New Years. The last few years it's been about 60 or so, this year was colder, 40's maybe. But it wouldn't surprise me if they jump on the bandwagon next year & have a game or two outside in February. I think all northern teams should try it out. The southern state fans would probably enjoy watching it. Only problem is the Eagles owners an ass & thinks he owns his stadium even though taxes paid for 60% of it. They might have to play in the baseball stadium, which is just as nice. Anyway, I think the NHL will continue this & northern teams should try 2-4 outside games/year.
