#6661 Re: The Sunset Strip » your favorite driving songs » 960 weeks ago
A good driving album (Although I don't even own it) is Aerosmith 'Permanant Vacation'. I just remember being 16 & my friend Kev driving to the mall on Friday/Saturday nights in his bug. Some of those songs were just awesome for being on a highway.
The Killers Sam's Town is pretty good. This River is Wild is great on a sunny day. & of course, The Who's Baba O'Reily!! John Mellencamps 'Pink Houses'.

That's ashame, I didn't see that. But I did see Najah Davenport playing alot. Did the injury happen early on??
Not only this season, but his career could be questionable. I'm sure he'll return, but at what level?! I can't think of any RB's who broke a leg & came back. TO did it, so I guess it's possible to return at a high level. I wish him the best.
Ashame for Pitt though, they seemed like a solid team for the playoffs. Now SD & Indy just got alot better, and Cleveland.

I hate calling my local pizza shop & the girl ALWAYS says "about 20-25 minutes"... I go, at about 25 minutes, and still wait another 10-15. If it takes 35 minutes, just tell me, the food is good & I'll still order it from there. I'll just wait at home, not there.
I get self conscious about this because the girl who works there (I think it's the owners daughter) is jailbait, about 18 & cute. I feel creepy like I show up early just to wait around & look at her.

Reminds me of Spider-Man fans. "But the box office..." Yeah, I couldn't give two shits about box office.
I never saw Spider Man. Or Superman, or the Hulk, or X-Men. The only superhero I like is Batman.

I was kinda shocked by the same thing.
Yeah it's pretty funny.
I don't know whether to feel like an internet nerd or a grumpy old man.

I heard she did a deal with the magazine that announced this (OK Magazine) to also release the first baby pictures for $1 million dollars. Yeah, a real family tragedy here.
My theory holds true with these B-list celebrities: Anything to get on TMZ. (or in this case, OK Magazine)

LOL, well the Burtonites are jealous as hell that Batman Begins received a better critical response so they're still living in the past.
That IMDB Top 250 ranking for BB really pisses off the Burtonites.
Actually I'm still remembering the times when Batman SHATTERED all box-office opening weekend figures. And marketing of Batman items was rampant!! Can't say either for poor little BB

As for Joker, Ledger has already blown Nicholson out of the water as far as I can tell. .
I'm glad you can tell that after a 3 minute trailer. Now sit thru 2 hours of it & we'll see.
I can't stand it when people claim that Nicholson was perfect as Joker. I've watched that movie literally hundreds of times (I grew up with it) so I am a huge fan of the movie. But Nicholson didn't "get" the Joker character at all.
To date, he's the best Batman villian so far....
In that 2 minute trailer, .Ledger more properly
end it right there..
As for Scarecrow, Cillian Murphy kicked ass. And if you you think he "ruined" the movie then all I'll say is you are in the vast minority on that one. .
Really?? I can't imagine that's true. I'll check IMDB for that.
The only thing wrong with Batman Begins, to me, was the dialogue and the microwave emitter plot. Everything else about it was awesome. If you wanna bash it, go ahead and do so..
I didn't 'bash it'. It's good, it's okay. I liked the opening storyline, it made a good introduction/explaination. Did I think it blew the original away??! No way. Absolutely not. It's okay, about as good as Batman. Maybe better, but I don't think it's head & shoulders better.
But the rest of us will continue enjoying Nolan's series while you wallow in the past with Burton's movies, which were damn good movies but are far from perfect. There's nothing wrong with being open-minded, but hey whatever. I know plenty of people who think Nicholson's Joker is perfect and can never be topped. If you take that position, then you probably shouldn't be on a new Guns N' Roses forum. That's probably not even a good analogy though b/c old GN'R literally was perfect whereas Nicholson's Joker was far from perfect.
What series are you talking about... it's 1 movie and a 3 minute trailer? Suddenly it's a series of them you've seen to make such comparisons. Alot of movies have kickass trailers. One of the best I've ever seen was when I was in college for some SciFi flick called Stargate. I swore that movie would be huge, the new Star Wars. Then reality hit. It didn't stretch well into 2 hours. Things like storylines, acting, flow come into play. Also, remember for a good portion of Batman Begins he wasn't even Batman yet... so they'll have to work that into the storyline & drift back & forth from being Batman to not. Storylines key, don't see that in trailers. All I'm saying is I'm not going to hail it as the next great summer movie yet, there's been some stinkers in recent years (DaVinci Code which had an awesome novel to base it off of).
Nice GnR analogy, I heard 3 minutes of Better. Does that mean Chinese Democracy will rock!!?
#6670 Re: The Sunset Strip » the what instrument do you play and what are you playing now thread » 960 weeks ago
I play guitar, but just chords & stuff. Can't really solo. Alot of Green Day, Foo & Blink & that style of songs. 4 chord punk. Mostly I get look up the tabs every now & then to learn a new one, but it isn't so often anymore. My "best"/most challenging songs I know are Plush, Everlong, Drown by Smashing Pumpkins & Soundgardens Rusty Cage & Superunknown. I know a few GnR, SCOM but I have trouble with the intro, especially now that I only have an acoustic. The neck doesn't really go down that far without it becoming awkward.
