It goes without saying that the sound quality was much better, but it's hard to compare, since it was a edited, shorter version of the song (Probably no longer than 2 minutes in all).

Sorry if this belongs elsewhere...didn't seem to fit with the "first single" thread.
I just got back from Body of Lies, and "If the World" starts to play during the *final scene* of the movie, not during the end credits. There's dialogue going on overtop of it initially, and it's only a short segment of the song that plays rather than the full track.
It's essentially intro, chorus, VERY short verse, chorus, and done. By the time the credits begin to roll, new music plays.
I'm not sure if the full track plays later in the credits, but I doubt it. If I'm incorrect, I'm sure someone else will clarify.
Obviously, it was very cool to hear new GnR blasting from the surround sound. Everything was clear, and sounded great.

Three. Two during the UYI tour(s) - once w/ Metallica, and once w/ Skid Row opening, and the first Hammerstein show in NYC. Hard to beat the Hammerstein show.

As always, I'm cautiously optimistic. Yes.

Well now that management and the record company are apparently closely involved - not to mention the looming possibility of a release date - the stakes are certainly higher, and it's understandable to for all parties to want to stop rumors from spreading at this point. It seems a bit odd that Axl would wait this long to correct Bach and ask him to stop saying that, but it's also understandable (and long overdue, in my opinion).

What I hate? More membership turnover from my favorite band ever, which likely means more delays in getting the record out. For that reason alone, I hope Robin is still involved, and that CD inches closer to release.

Looks fantastic...thank you. Weird, though. I couldn't see anyone's avatar or account info. by their posts for quite some time. It showed up as white text against a white background. All appears to be well now, though. Again, everything looks great. Thanks for the time and effort.

Wow. All those asinine posts aren't doing anyone any favors in regards to getting the song played, I'm sure.

I didn't think it would do well the first couple of times I listened to it, but now I feel differently. I can't wait for a better mix, one not ripped out of the game.
It's funny you say that. When I'm listening to the CD tracks all in one sitting, "Shackler's" really pops out of the speakers, and sounds much louder than the other tracks. To me, it sounds much closer to a "finished product" than the others...
