#701 Re: Guns N' Roses » GET WELL SOON RON!!!! » 720 weeks ago

Get better Ron, and thanks for just being who you are. It hasn't gone unnoticed at all.

Also, I hope things work out for you and the band can actually be creatively fulfilling at some point.

Calling him a pussy after the amount of pain he's dealt with is crazy. On top of that, on top of him being awesome to the fans, on top of him hanging in there CLEARLY hoping to be part of carrying something new forward, I'd say the FEW times he's complained have been extremely fewer than any sane person would have predicted.

Of course he has options, but it's got to grate on him to have to come to terms with the reality of a job that can support his family in ways that being a guitar teacher never could, and the reality of being in a place where so MUCH could be done, but so LITTLE is. He's in a golden cage until Axl decides to actually DO something. Add to that, that he can't even begin to address the real questions people have of a band he's supposedly a member of. Until they release new music, he's a hired hand. And I wouldn't be surprised at all that he was cool with that for the first 2,3, even 4 years. But now he's starting to notice that cage.  What would YOU do? As a guy with a wife and kids, I'd keep taking the paycheck for their benefit. As a musician (who's already dealt with major mental roadblocks in the past), I'd be sinking into depression and frustration.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him go, but I'd be sad to see him leave, and more potential squandered.

What I hope my fantasy band doesn't sound like live:

1:25 is pretty bad...their voices (especially Paul's) sound shot.

John's hurting quite a bit too. You can hear him struggling right off the first line when he sings "help MEEE, to understand"

One of my favorite bands of all time. Paul is top 5 best bassists of all time. That first link you put up especially shows how special they were.

Silence followed by another tour eventually. Definitely someone will leave. Good.call, Aussie.

The worst part in my opinion, is that we may never hear Axl's unabridged side of the story. I wish he'd put out a book, but what if he did and it was just a recounting of the many ways in which he'd been screwed over from his POV? That would be something, but would still kind of blow.

I get what he's going for. It's basically a shit on Axl statement. It just sucks is all.

Ha! I'm out of it. I Feel Better- released Oct 2011. At least I can pick out the singles.

Oh, so EWO was the first single or something? Off to wiki with me...

I Feel Better would be a huge hit too, if it hasn't been released already.
