I don't think so. Jagger strikes me as the type of guy who's too self aware to do something like that. He knows he would catch too much shit. The one thing that suggests he might do it is that he seems addicted to the touring life. Maybe a solo/Rolling Stones type of deal, like Roger Waters has been doing.

He's not like Axl...

Imo it's not the Constitution but Americans. Our Constitution is the second oldest in the world (after yours) and it was inspired by the American Revolution. But our politicians just ignore it when they feel like it. American politicians try to do the same and sometimes succeed, but the legal culture is much stronger with you than it is with us. Probably because you got it by rebellion while we did not.

They say Australia was made up of convicts, but the real reason is not the convicts, it's all the prison guards they descend from.

To me "You will Own Nothing" is an obvious trend that already existed....I don't need to buy every CD that comes out cos I have spotify...I don't need to get every new BD/DVD cos I have all the streaming services...I don't need to buy a holiday house....I can air B+B a great place for the 2 weeks of a decade I wanna be there....maybe eventually I don't need to own my car...I can make do with the transport and ubers....

People keep using it as some proof of some global agenda but to me it's just more common sense evolution of the gig economy and using the internet and smart devices to deliver services to people.

In 1997 I could have told you that one day I would be able to watch new movies as they come out on the internet, but that's just an extrapolation from the state of affairs of what the future is likely to be. It's not proof that anyone intends to unravel democracy or anything similar.

If we just pretend to forget for the moment that this is blatant communism, why is this a good thing? The thing about owning something is the fact you have the freedom to do what you want with it. I still have my copy of "Lies". And I plan to spin it until I expire. Including the very best song on that EP, which you already can't listen to on the reissue and definitely won't hear on Spotify or anywhere else online in the future. Neil Young and Joe Rogan should be a reminder where this is heading.

I also own my home. The government can't just throw me out because I disagree with the TV. They can't force me to live in a slum or a crammed high rise because we need to free up room for some new social programs. You remember bussing? That's going to take on an expanded meaning if this happens. But currently it's not so easy to do that. In some places now they are denying health care to RUSSIANS. Merely because your ass was born in a certain geography and they're villain of the week. Hospital in Munich just announced this. Governments in Europe are forfeiting Russian assets, including regular people, as we speak. You think this train is heading somewhere nice? Your own Prime Minister called you all sheep just a few months ago. How much more obvious does it need to get?

Always liked him. Loved his role in A History of Violence. A shame he didn't make it bigger really.

Fingers crossed this is not another "natural death". A lot of sudden deaths these last 2 years.

A nice long distraction until they're ready to jump on the pandemic train again. With some climate change hysteria to spice things up. Economy's going to tank at some point. It's going to be fun ride towards 2030 and the globalist agenda.

If they actually tried to play it real and sit down in a room together the chemistry might spark something. Other than that I think Axl is done. He stopped caring and I don't see much that will change that at his age.

Margin Call is a gem. A lot of (semi) big names in that flick and they all deliver. I'd watch it for Jeremy Iron's character alone.

Scarface
I remember first time I watched this, it was on all the gangster flick lists when I started getting into movies. Thought then it was good but no Godfather or Goodfellas. But it actually is. Very different than those. De Palma's use of color is second to none except George Lucas. Visually this movie is extremely sexy. Music he's as good as Scorsese. Acting is top notch across the board, just fantastic. Some BIG players in this movie. Of course Al, Pfeiffer but also massive presence of Robert Loggia and F Murray Abraham himself. But what this movie really offers is the message. For all the poignancy and performance of "Look how they massacred my boy" the main message to take from that is "don't get into organized crime". Scarface hits deeper. The dinner scene at the end with Montana, Manny and Elvira is REAL like none of those other gangster movies are. It's bits and pieces like that telling you De Palma can be a notch above all those other big directors.

A Good Year
Underrated feel good effort from Ridley. His visuals coupled with the backdrop of the French countryside produces the desired results. Russel Crowe still at the top of his game here, a joy to watch. A nice simple script with some good and funny scenes. Should have watched this years ago.

I'm not too keen on new stuff either, Axl seems to be completely spent in that area and Slash is over the hill too. Not sure how much Izzy could contribute these days either, but obviously it would help. Perhaps he would be the exact catalyst they need. Esp. Axl.

I think Steven left his band in Europe mid tour.

The media continues to reach new levels of stupid. Talking about a no fly zone as if it's just another thing, not bothering to consider the nuclear war that will follow. And apparently most people are also not capable of thinking that far when they cheer it on.

When did everybody just lose their minds?
