Exactly.

A thirty six years old guitar player with hardly any album credits is not what I would consider a legend. Honestly, I don't think most people outside of the boards would even recognize his name. I think he's a good guitar player and all, but I don't think he'll ever be remembered as one of the greats.

Think about all the accomplishments players like Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Joe Perry, and Slash had waaaaay before turning 30 years old.

For me personally, it's hard to get excited when I hear that Axl's band members are doing interviews. They never ever say anything relevant about the band or album. Just always some vague excuse for the delay or "I can't answer that" response.

Also, has Frank ever done anything outside of being GN'R 5th drummer ? As far as I know, he hasn't. He's just a no name drummer who ended up in the band because another guy walked out on the project. Am I wrong ?

I do agree and wish Axl was more vocal, we certainly would listen to anything he had to say about GNR but I can understand how he would remain silent with what has been said about him throughout the years and how he in his own words at Albany 2002 show and I am paraphrasing he doesn't like to say anything cuz it's gets all twisted around on him.

I disagree. The scrutiny and flack he receives from the media / fans has been well deserved in most cases.

Was it the media / fans who said that the album was done in 2002 ?

Was it the media / fans that said the album was "definitely coming out in 2006" ?

Was it the media / fans who set the March 07' tentative release date and then promised to keep the fans updated should it be delayed ?

You can't expect him to be receiving positive reviews when all he does is cancel shows pointlessly, delay albums indefinitely, and continuously keep the fans in the dark.

Can Baz get any more pathetic ?

I wish that he'd realize Axl's dick isn't a bicycle and quit riding it already.

All the time he's spent using Axl to promote his album, he should have spent that same time trying to come up with some solid material.

I'd much rather listen to Slash and Duff play STP songs than hear any of the solo crap that Baz has come up with.  yikes

If there's negotiations going on (Axl wants to renogotiate) that's another thing, but even then that wouldn't mean it was handed in. Every years it's the same BS with this band.

Exactly.

We had to wait through 10 years of excuses just to hear recording was complete. Now it looks like the excuses for the next decade will be "how to release it". It's all just another bullshit smokescreen. The only hold up is Axl handing this album in. Nothing else. It's all about his insecurities over the material, his band or both. I'm not buying for 1 second that the record company has it and now they are delaying it. roll

I bet anything that we go through 2008 without a release date, single, or album. In fact, I bet Axl doesn't even make serious mention of this album again until he plans on taking his band back on tour. At that point, he'll start his "soon" shit again in an attempt to sell his concert tickets.

Axl gets so much undeserved shit from the media and fans.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to disagree. I'd say the majority of shit Axl receives from his fans and the media is more than well deserved.

Also, I don't see what this message from BBF is supposed to be opening our eyes too ??  neutral

Instead of playing comedian, it'd be nice if he actually gave some relevant information about the album.

I'd pay top dollar to see a GN'R reunion with STP opening up for them.

Would be completely badass.

The more drunk Baz was getting, the more annoying he was getting.

Cool interview.

Slash is awesome.

I like how Conan said "I feel weird calling it GN'R because to alot of us it's not GN'R."

I hope to see Slash back on "the right side of the stage" eventually.

#80 Re: Guns N' Roses » Supporting Baz [and Axl].. who will buy Angel Down? » 922 weeks ago

Eh, I probably won't be buying it.

Overall I'm not very impressed with the songs that I have heard so far. Even the songs that have had Axl on vocals haven't been very good, imo.

I'm going to keep listening to the songs as they leak. If my opinion changes, I'll consider buying the album. As of right now, I think I'll re-buy the Slave to the Grind album that I misplaced instead.
